Would loss to Giants get Garrett fired?

stop this crap, he didnt get fired for losing the the Jets.,

its ok, some fans will come around to reality.

If the Cowboys were to lose to the Giants, it is unfathomable that JG wouldn't be fired immediately.
Losing to both the Jets and Giants, as heavy favorites in both, would be inexcusable regardless of circumstances.

Only in some people's minds but not the owners.

Next two games are prime-time national broadcasts.

Only way I see him getting fired is losing both and coming out completely flat on the NBC Sunday night game against the Vikings.

Unless you think his replacement is already on the staff, what purpose would firing him midseason serve other than make some fans feel good?

He's already a lame duck. Either he takes this team as far as Jerry thinks he should or he's not getting a new contract.

I envision no scenarios where Jerry Jones will fire Garrett during the season.
The only thing I could see causing JG to be fired during the season, is an ugly dispute with Dak. Especially in light of their ongoing contract talks. Something I see starting to happen in Cleveland.

Say what you want about JG, but it seems like many former players love him as a coach. Even if they went on a horrible losing streak, I don't think the team would start pointing fingers.

The $64,000 dollar question is, if he gets fired for another one and done.

( Old timers will get the reference )

The only possibility of Garrett getting fired during the season is if the Cowboys were to lose the next three games then get blasted by the Pats similar to the debacle against Green Bay in 2010. The team would have to appear to have quit before Garrett would get the hook during the season. If the team comes back flat and uninspired after the bye and it leads to the ceiling falling in the next several weeks something would have to be done at HC.

Garrett is not getting fired. Forget about that. I doubt he will get fired even if he loses the rest of their games this year and they finish 4-12. Jerry will put the blame somewhere else. This is what I tell myself so that I don;t get my hopes up that Jerry will someday act like a real GM and do what has to be done for the good of the team.

I would also caution the Cowboys not to take this game too lightly. The Giants are a much better team on both sides of the ball from the last time they played Dallas. The addition of Leonard Williams is going to help them a lot on defense. I am sure the Giants caught tapes of the Cowboys-Jets game when Williams overpowered the Cowboys offensive line and blew up a bunch of plays. Clearly the Giants are trying to bolster their pass defense by creating more pressure on QBs.

On offense the Giants showed they can block the Cowboys and run the football with Barkley. The Cowboys did not solve their problems at safety or DT before the trade deadline. The Giants also have Golden Tate back he can be a real pain to deal with on 3rd downs. Darius Slayton has emerged as a serious big play receiver as well now that he has experience. We should worry about him against Chidobe Awuzie. Daniel Jones also pressents some problems because he can escape containment run for big plays. They didn't have to worry about that with Manning. On the plus side for Dallas, they didn't have Quinn or Bennett for the first game so if Dallas can get the Giants in passing situations they can put some pressure on Jones and force him into mistakes - which he will make under pressure.

Still, don't take the Giants lightly. They are better than the Jets on offense and they can score points.

We like our coach. He rally’s the team after they underachieve and gets them back to a 500 record. He will he hired in a second if they let go.

Keep telling yourself that it will happen, come Tuesday you will be disappointed
JG isn’t getting fired mid season, in fact he won’t get fired at all. He may not get an extension but not fired

I would like to say yes to this but the reality of it is that Jerry has been looking for reasons to keep Garrett and I mean any reason and I feel that is only to sell it to the fans. I know Garrett's deal is up and I was in the crowd believing he would be fired if we didn't make it further in the playoffs but after hearing Jerry defend Garrett after the jets loss I now think the contract thing is all being done to make it look like Garrett was in danger of being fired to placate us. I don't think Garrett is going any where no matter what the outcome of the season is now.

No.

We could lose the rest of the games and Garrett wouldn't be fired till the season is over.

Not going to happen during the season. Jerry is going to control those puppet strings until they rot.
