Would you be happy with a Super Bowl loss?

Aikman agrees... So do I.

We are the Dallas cowboys. Any other standard is for the other teams. It's been so long, so we forget that.

Length of time has little to do with it. Saying we are the Dallas Cowboys has little to do with it. Ultimately we are 1 of 32 teams in the NFL. This current group was not even given a snowball chance in hell to be in the position they currently find themselves in, coach enters the season on the hot seat and playoffs many where told was nothing but a pipe dream by kool aid drinkers.
Of course we all want to win the SB that is the ultimate goal but making vast improvement is also important to this or any franchise. Seattle did not go from poor to contender to SB champs in 1 season they built on the success until they reached the ultimate goal of being able to win it. Should Dallas make it and lose would I be disappointed? No doubt about it but would I also recognize the accomplishment and improvement from this current group? You bet
Frankly since I began watching the Cowboys in 1965 my hope each and every year was the chance to be in the championship game then later the SB with the opportunity to see them win it all. I would take this team being part of a championship over being like the rest of the league watching it at home

No.

A Super Bowl won by the Dallas cowboys trumps all.

Yes it trumps all, I will still take being in a SB or in a National Championship or any other championship game with a chance than some team sitting at home watching it. Would a SB for this team be a big step forward, no question about it that is a big step forward for this team. I honestly can't believe anyone would rather lose a playoff game and not be in the SB over being in the SB itself. I find that hilarious
At the end of the season only 2 teams have a shot, I want to be one of those teams

If you lose playoff game or NFC championship game you didn't earn the right to represent in the Super Bowl.

But..... If you do win NFC title game. You, the Dallas cowboys, better dam well win it!!

Don't apply logic to Dallas cowboys fandom! Fanaticism... Please... ;-)

I will agree there that is no logic. lol

Right now you tell me my team is going to the SB, I'll gladly take it no questions asked. 2 play it and 30 sit at home watching it. I see nothing glorious about those watching it at home

"Better win it" - and if they don't?

You can say "Cowboys, tradition, excellence, high standard, mystique, pride, legacy" but if the Super Bowl scoreboard reads "Broncos 37, Cowboys 24," then it's Broncos 37, Cowboys 24, period.

Jaguars,Bills, Jets, Bengals, Browns, Titans, Chiefs, Vikings, Commanders, Eagles, Dolphins, Cardinals, Lions, Bears, Falcons, Panthers and Chargers might tell you how long "long" is.

How about we just make the playoffs to begin with. I would be happy with that for once.

But to answer your question, I really don't know. I've never experienced a Super Bowl loss. I was not born for their 3 losses in their earlier days.

Ask Broncos fans how they viewed their season last year. Many say it was a failure. Granted, their expectations are a little different than ours. Peyton was supposed to deliver them rings. And that has yet to happen. It would almost be a miracle for us to even make a deep playoff run with our defense to be honest.

If we got there and got blown out like Denver, I could see myself saying it was a failure and almost a waste of time. Close game probably changes that. Although losing a close game would be worse on your emotions and nerves.

Question for some people here: Do you see any difference between scoring a 2300 on the SAT (out of a maximum 2400), and scoring just 1000?

Because, applying this "Losing the Super Bowl is worse than not getting there at all" logic, if you can't get a perfect SAT score, it's no different than flunking and crashing entirely, right?

What's so hard for you to understand?

Like Aikmam, I agree. If you don't win Super Bowl. Season was a failure.

When they start passing out trophies for nice seasons then we can talk again.

My opinion is different from yours ... No biggie Red.... Signed Red ;-)

ahhaha.... And , his dad was high when he said it.

and fans are high if they think making the SB is an easy task. lol

Thing even funnier is most of those who predicted nothing but doom and gloom for the season are claiming going to the SB and not winning would be a failure this after some predicted 5-11 and 6-10 season. A SB would have to be considered way above any and all of their expectations yet chances are would be whaling and going on about how Jerry, Romo and Garrett need to go because they did not win the SB. lol

If we go... And we lose.... And it was clear as day that is was Playcalling or abandoning the run and getting pass happy....then....

Well... To be continued. Heh heh

anytime we lose it is playcalling the play you did not call would have won it and these fans know exactly what play should have been ran and of course theirs would have worked. I'm truly amazed that more people here are not coaching in the NFL. lol

Ultimate goal is winning SB but I don't care what Aikman said getting to the SB especially for teams who have been dealing with failure for a long time SB is a hell of an improvement. Cowboys last time at the Dance was the 1995 season you damn right I will be dancing in the streets if Dallas were to win the NFC Championship and be playing in the SB.
