Would you be mad if Jerry drafted Manzeil?

i mean, we have only won 1 playoff game in a long time. our defense is not a player away...for me the risk/reward if manziel were to somehow pan out..would be HUGE. if he didnt...not like we were winning alot either way. but thats just my take. id love to see what manziel could be as a member of our team. if he busts, he busts. Oh well. We've been without success for a while anyway. I'd risk it. There's also no guarantee whoever else we pick at 16 is NOT a bust

I am more mad seeing pointless Johnny College threads than actually drafting Johnny College.

I'd officially cash in my Cowboys chips...burn all of my Cowboys gear. Flush 34 years of being a a loyal fan.... and become an internet troll.

I asked because I went over to the NFL.com website and noticed that Mike Mayock guess that the Cowboys would draft Manziel and after reading the post it would seem possible. He also said that if he had the choice, he would draft a DE.

I would be a little mad if that happened. We already have a good QB in Romo why drafted him? Yes he got so much potential and skills but look at the defense right now. It hard to ignore the fact that Jerry Jones has the final say so.

Because this is currently a boring franchise with a depressed fan base regarding the team.

Manziel at least could bring some hope back because right now it seems like there is none.

We have a bad coach and probably the weakest team we'll have ever put out on the field since Parcells started to rebuild this thing.

First few rounds are BPA for me, so if he's there at 16, I probably do take him. Unless my phone is ringing off the hook from a team who gives me an offer I can't refuse to slide back a few picks.

Only if he drops to us at 16.
I would hate to hear that
the eagles got him, he was recruited by their coach in college.
He is perfect for Kellys offense.

NO I would be pumped. We dont need him but he would definitely bring energy to this team and franchise.

Not at all. Just like any #1 round pick, none of them are sure things and all could be busts. If his ceiling is Steve Young which is what Mayock was saying, then I take that chance. Romo is 34, we are not one defensive player in the 1st round of the 2014 draft away from being a Super Bowl contender. Take the 10 other picks and draft BPA and start planning for the future.

Lots of folks want Barr, as do I, but he's two years away from being really good....if he also pans out, so it's not like he would instantly turn this team into SB contenders.

Nope. Nothing wrong with setting up for the future. Manziel = excitement which in turn = non stop Cowboys coverage on every major network. Meh... why not?

I have said from day one that Johnny Football would be great in Dallas. He would be entertaining at his worst , entertaining and a winner at his best. These 8-8 seasons would be easier to take with him in Dallas.

This is a very realistic post. There is no rookie defensive players that are going to turn this team around in their first year. It is time to build for the future.

Draft a QB in the 1st round next year, or the year after. We have Romo's contract for the next 3-4 years. It isn't going anywhere. If Romo's back goes out, then we will have a high draft pick next year. Until then.

I wouldn't be upset at all. In fact, there are very few picks that would get me upset as long as the value is there. This team is JAG city and Romo may have lingering back issues for all we know. There is no spot that they cannot upgrade outside of Left Tackle, Center and WR1.

I would add that if they do draft Manziel, it would speak volumes about what they really think about Romo's back long-term.

No. I say bring Manzell to Dallas. At least there would be hope for the future. There is no hope right now.

First time caller, long time listener.

Is it wrong, is it just me...When I see Johnny Football clips I hear yakety sax (aka benny hill theme) in my head.

I will hang up and listen.

Interesting stat I just heard in relation to QB: In the 7 losses last year with Romo as QB, Romo had 17 TD passes and 3 interceptions. Let that sink in.

That said, no I would not be mad if we took Manziel.
