Would you be mad if Jerry drafted Manzeil?

If we traded up I would be OK with it. IF we got him at 16, and could still use the rest of the draft on defensive needs, we should be elated.

That said, if we hold a year on qb, I'm good with that, too.

Manziel will be a bust so I will be mad because of several reasons

1. We will not have done our homework and picked a future bust
2. We will not have improved the team around romo thereby reducing our chances of competing for a championship
3. We will have created a HUGE distraction in a team that already appears unfocused
4. Manziels biggest issue is immaturity, lack of focus and discipline. Those are exactly the problems we have on this team.
5. This will be a decision based on money in the joneses pockets and not a team decision, pure and simple .

BTW, many of the same people telling us it would a bad decision in this thread will be lining up to praise and defend Jerry for doing it

Who are these quotes about:
"You never knew what he was going to do, because he didn't know what he was going to do. A lot of coaches would try to put bridles on those kinds of players. I thought it was best to let him go. He could just run defenses out of gas."

Lynch and S******* decided it was time to hit midtown Manhattan and celebrate. Lynch suggested a visit to the nearby Playboy Club. Problem was, S******* was dressed in his military uniform. With the help of Thalman, S******* borrowed some civilian dress clothes - which included a shirt and pair of pants about six inches too short.

"We show up at the door of the Playboy Club. We knock and this beautiful Playboy bunny answers. I tell her we don't have a key, but this is R**** S******. He just won the Heisman. She just closes the door," Lynch said.

Roger Staubach, of course. Amazing how much they resemble a certain TAMU player.

If Johnny is heads above the best rated player on their board and they take him...I say good for Jerry and the scouts as they followed their board.

Does NOT mean I would like the pick because I would not.

It does not have to be a black and white issue.

And supposedly he is the #1 player on our board.

He won't reach 16 though so all this fuss is for nothing.

I really hope someone takes him before we draft which would make another player fall to us...OR He is there and we get some team to give us some good picks to trade down.

Would I be mad if the Cowboys draft the single most talented QB in the draft this year (especially one with all of the potential this young man has), and let him sit behind an experienced veteran in Romo 2-3 years so he can learn the game and only get better, preparing him for when he becomes the QB of this organization's future?

No. I would be far from mad.

I would be disappointed with the pick but hopeful that Manziel would live up to the hype and become the future of the Cowboys.

The logic in drafting him would be stupid.

You paid Romo a ton of money to be your QB and try to get you to the Super Bowl. Romo has a 2-3 year window left, at best if you are optimistic about his chances to stay healthy. Why wouldn't you then try to surround him with the best team you possibly can during these next few years? That means not wasting a first round pick, who could have an immediate impact if you draft right, on a freaking QB who will sit the bench the next 3 years.

The logic would be stunningly moronic.

See the problem is we need to forget about this 2-3 year window. Tony Romo has already been a starter for 8 years and this team has one playoff win to show for it. That is in no way to say that Romo is to blame for all of the short comings of this team. But you cant tell me any other team in the league who would sit on this plateau for 8 going on 9 years and not even TRY to make a change at QB. Logic says its moronic to try to do the same thing with the same guy for 10-11 years who couldnt do it the first 8.
