I will go on record saying that drafting Manziel would be one if the few times that I would agree with Jerry. As for building around Romo, several years have been wasted making this team "Romo friendly". If it hasn't been friendly enough by now, it sure won't happen in these last couple of years of his career. I think it is time to move on and build for the future.

I think when Jerry said he wanted to make the team Romo friendly, he was talking offense. Unfortunately, Jerry forgot that it also takes a decent defense to win NFL football games.

I did not list him because he was not a defensive player. Dallas has drafted defense 2012 draft are all in the top 3 rounds of those drafts. Lee and Carter 2nd rd picks the point being Dallas is drafting defense so the statment you made that they "Jerry forgot that it also takes a decent defense to win NFL football games" is a BS statement fact is they have and used top picks on defense

The scouts liked him and again the draft is not about today it is about your teams future. Use FA which by the way we have used for defense as well Brandon Carr and now Melton. Fact is Dallas has not neglected defense. Crawford getting injured was a big setback for the defense and frankly many of the injuries to defense has hurt but to claim Dallas has not selected defense is laughable.

Sounds pretty much like you think draft is all about today’s needs and nothing more well your entitled to that view.

I hope Dallas does not draft him but seeing that I am a fan I have no say in this at all I have no problem saying that if he becomes a Cowboy I will pull for him be successful. After all I pull for Cowboy players and this team, not my own personal view of who I think we should have picked.

Defense was beat to hell last year, Ware injured yet again, Spencer out, Crawford out, Lee out and others missing quite a bit of time through out the season. You don't lose that many players and not feel the pain. Neglecting would be if Dallas did nothing to bring players in and that is just not the case. Hell 2012 was almost entirely defense and what was the response here? What about the OL Jerry does not care about the OL. This place is too damn funny at times.

They ole injury excuse. Don't you realize that ALL teams suffer injuries? Yet the Cowboys are unable to overcome them. Why is that? Because they have no depth.

No just a reality and yes other teams too will get injuries and the effect of certain injuries can have a major impact on any team. Losing Ware would have been one thing losing your entire DL was another. Bears lose Urlacker and their defense went to crap, 1 fricken player. Yes injuries have to be contended with by all teams and all teams have them but injuries can also have major negitive impact on any team.

Heck Jimmy Johnson loses Emmitt Smith to start a season and we lose both games because of it? Hell Dallas record when any of the triplets missed a game was pretty bad.

I asked because I went over to the NFL.com website and noticed that Mike Mayock guess that the Cowboys would draft Manziel and after reading the post it would seem possible. He also said that if he had the choice, he would draft a DE.

I would be a little mad if that happened. We already have a good QB in Romo why drafted him? Yes he got so much potential and skills but look at the defense right now. It hard to ignore the fact that Jerry Jones has the final say so.

I would be extremely upset. And I feel it would show everyone that Jerry cares about notoriety and name recognition, not about winning.

I hope that is not the case.
