McCarthy and Payton's coaching records are virtually identical, and Payton had a future HOF QB for 15 years.

I'll never understand why he's held in such regard here, other than he was an assistant in Dallas I guess. There's nothing on his resume' to suggest he's a massive upgrade.

Definitely NO on Payton... he was held up by Brees and rode him like MM did Rogers. As for Dallas, they will most likely be one and done anyway. I have no trust or faith on this coaching staff preparing a team and even less with Dak being able to step up on the bigger stage. Will choke it away. To put it in culinary terms, Dallas is cooked.

Payton said he wanted Dak just as much as Herbert.....make it work Jerry...you only have few more years....go all in for everything.....get good players even if it means money in the hole
I don’t know if he said that but my guess is it was something called sarcasm. I’d like to see Sean here bc he would bench Dak and trade him bc he doesn’t spin tires.

Sure I'd take Sean Payton over bonehead McCarthy any day.

But I don't see it happening.

I'm not sure what would fix this organization. We always seem to be one straw short.

Why do people think Payton would want the Dallas job?

The infatuation with Sean Payton here is mind boggling. Another retread with a modest resume. It won’t make a damn bit of difference as long as dumb and dumber run the team like a child’s hobby. Right now we’re seeing the results of cream puff excuse culture and a complete unwillingness to go after playmakers in free agency. Sean Payton won’t fix that.

It will take more than one and done to get Sean Payton.

Remember he's still under contract with the Saints and they are going to want some draft compensation.

They want Mike McCarthy's one career Super Bowl win gone in exchange for Payton's one career Super Bowl win.

Dont think we would give up the draft picks required to secure Sean.
I expect another year of Mac as HC.

No
Because you aren’t getting him
When he’s actually free or down to the last year then someone, maybe even Jerry will make a play for him
The saints own his rights till 2024 and why would they give them away cheap? Why would you want to give a premium pick to get him?
After next year when the saints see they may get nothing then he will get much more reasonable
There is no reason why the saints would let him get paid twice lol
PS the saints are playing about as good without him as with him. Brees is gone and Payton bailed on them because he knew without a QB he’d struggle
Brees made Payton

conner i did not know saints still own his contract til 2024....thanks for correction

I'd go 1 and done for Bill B and McDaniels as OC

let me ask you. he had a HOF QB, one of the best and most accurate QBs. loaded roster. great OL. yet he had one superbowl win to his name. just like Mccarthy....so where is this offensive guru and great coaching mind we kept hearing about? I am not sold on him.

Mike had Favre then Rogers....just tips the scale too much....even fat Mike could not keep them from winning
