I absolutely would not make this trade - yes, the value might be there from a points perspective, but in doing so, the Cowboys miss out on one of the five or so true difference makers in this draft. And by difference maker, I mean Ezekiel Elliot. Those extra two second rounders are going to pale in comparison to EE in terms of the impact they make on their respective teams and his impact would be maximized on the Cowboys. So no, I instead make a trade with the Ravens, get one of those additional second rounders instead of two (or possibly a third rounder, whatever equal value), and still draft EE at six.

I would take a draft that netted a haul like this over missing out on Elliott easily

Hell yes

From the value chart...

#4=1800

#15 (1050) + #43 (470) + #45 (450) = 1970

What about this trade:

Dallas gives #4(1800) & #67 (255) = 2055

Dallas gets the Titans #15 (1050) #33 (580) & 43 (470) = 2100

they probably wouldn't go for this but which would you prefer? Points wise Dallas' comes out better with your trade plus they keep their 3rd rounder.

Since I prefer more picks, I think I'd lean toward your trade

This "value chart" has got to be the lamest possible method for deciding on comparable value there is. It does not take position of need into consideration at all, which does in fact mean something. It does not take into consideration that distribution of talent will shift from year to year, it considers that distribution to be completely static. Plus, adding up points that someone has arbitrarily assigned to these positions just seems so stupid and dependent on somebody else - I mean, a monkey could add up points from a table.

That's...hilarious.

Hilarious? Have you ever watched the draft? Position runs happen yearly. Also there is always a coveted player ot two who drops way down the board.

The whole partier thing, especially the party drugs may come back to hurt his stock enough to have him fall to the mid to late 1st.

I personally dont want zeke and the chance of him having issues with drugs.....we are already dealing with that nonsense as it is. What good is a bell cow if he is stuck in the corral for 4 to 6 games.

If there is ever a year to trade back this is it. Lack of top end talent but great depth.

With as many holes as we have? Absolutely... Assuming of course that both Goff and Wentz are already off the board.

well, if we did make a trade to get two 2nds or a 2nd & 3rd, I would want J.Smith (LB) with one of those picks

Too easy. Almost no brainer.

Make it harder. FINAL OFFER 60 seconds before turning in the card. Take this or take player ?

Titan offers 1(15), 2(43) and 3 (67)
Dallas offers 1(4)

That's a damn good offer trade value wise. My first three picks are all DEs. W 15. Spense, 34 Deforest and 43 Dodd. We would be sacking foos

Fill one hole well with a blue chipper> trying to fill three holes with lower probability picks

Tunsil is still on the board at 4.

Tennessee calls and says they want to trade up to 4 and get their LT.

So:

Tennessee offers 1 (15), 2 (43), 2 (45)
Dallas offers 1 (4)

I make that trade in a heartbeat......4 picks in the top 45 is huge.

I would do it no one in the top 10 really impresses me and with Tunsil being the highest rated player in the draft by some we don't need him.

Deforest is going as high as 5 potentially. I see no scenario, barring a legal matter that causes him to fall past the top 10.

I thought that might have been what you meant. I don't think our 4th rounder was part of the OPs proposal, though, just for the sake of clarity.

I misread his proposal. I thought he was offering our first and our fourth.

I do it no matter who is on the board, especially over-hyped players, but Mocking Trades is pretty much a work in futility.

Yes. But it's doubtful Tennessee makes the trade.
Like I have said a few times. This is the trade I would like at that slot.
Their Number 1 from the Rams.
Their early 2nd rounder.
The number 3 from the Rams from next year.
