Twitter: Would you resign Anthony Brown?

Yes

unless he wanted top CB money...any other time maybe but we got ALOT of players to resign to big contracts in the future

Holy Crapp, you've got to be kidding. Another CB in the 1st? We'll never get to the super bowl going that route.

Another? The last time the Cowboys drafted a CB in the first round was 2015. It will be 8 years when the draft rolls around next April. But it has been over 30 years since they took a DT in the first round so I hope the get a shot at one this coming draft. Hill is a free agent and I would not go out of my way to sign him.

Wright is gone. He's simply not an NFL starter. The pundits were right in saying we overdrafted him. Funny how when the scouts are right, which they are 80% of the time, no one wants to talk about it!!!!!

All the more reason they may want to find a CB in the draft.

Joseph is not going to take his job away.

I'm not ready to say this was ANOTHER blown 2nd round pick. But, right now it doesn't look to be panning out. If he can get it together, because he has the skills, and if Damone Clark can fully become the player the scouts said he could be, we could be looking at a 85' Bears type of swarming defense with our speed. I know I said after the playoff loss to the 49ers that I would be even keel when it comes to our team until we get past the divisional round, but I lied! I believe we have what it takes with the way our defense is playing. Let's do this, baby! GO COWBOYS!!!

- As the nature of NFL Free agency, you will always have NFL teams that are willing to pursue and overpay to chance strengthening their roster.

- We saw teams like Jax Jags make Barry Church quite a nice FA offer per his departure
..and he was an average player that was outta the league within the next two years.

- And Wilson seems to be a lot better player than Church was.

- Could we Stephen Jones believe they have their Wilson replacement in the waiting in Markus Bell or Israel M.? (Izzy)

yah I think those two young guys can fill in fine. Gotta let the young guys play and develop them. Thats what we have been doing. Keep the core studs and pay them. Keep the others rotating in and out every few years.

Nah I wouldn't. He's been good but the fall off will happen eventually based on history. Plus use that money for diggs

He is a free agent after the season and signed a 3 yr, $15M deal in 2020. I can't find his market value anywhere ( OTC or Spotrac ) but I'm guessing $7-8M would be his floor.

I think he's benefiting a lot from this defensive system and pressure. So first, I let the year play out because we're only five games into the season and a lot can change about his play and his market. Second, we want to retain Diggs, so Brown's cost would have to be pretty low. Third, we drafted Joseph in the second round and Bland has played well in limited snaps, so I think Brown's cost has to be heavily weighed against next man up in this case.

yes...as long as the price isn't stupid.
he's a good player and seems like a good dude in the locker-room.
he's better than he gets credit.
can't have enuff corners.
i'd re-sign him and still draft'm.

Nothing more than 8 million, if he can land a pay day some where else, enjoy the comp pick and have Bland/Joseph step up in his place.

Back to back years of high level play. His last contract was 5M a season and he hadn’t shown this yet, y’all think he’s gonna sign for 8M?

Someone will pay him as dang near a CB1. He’ll get 11-13M AAV.

I think you are correct....he is only 28, should have some good years left.

Yes you resign Brown. If you don't, then you have to draft his replacement next April.

Secondary play is kind of a "weakest link" game. It's not about having one lockdown guy, it's about having 5 or 6 decent guys who don't give up easy catches.

AB's the definition of a decent guy. He's not elite, but he's played at a starting level for 7 seasons now. He could probably get $10M a season on the open market, and he is worth that IMO.

Wright is gone. He's simply not an NFL starter. The pundits were right in saying we overdrafted him. Funny how when the scouts are right, which they are 80% of the time, no one wants to talk about it!!!!!

The draft board's only right about half the time, but the track record of going against it is way worse than that.

This thing with bossmanfat is concerning. It's great that he is getting snaps on special teams, but I need to see him play CB more and the fact that he can't beat out Anthony Brown or even make his seat warm feels like a problem. I'm not counting on him to replace anyone and I really hope it's not a similar situation to Randy Gregory where we invested a high amount and don't want to part with it too early because of "ceiling"
