Teams have to replace vets every season with rookie deals. They dont have a choice, they HAVE TO DO THIS> They just need to decide who to replace. I like Brown, hes done a nice job for his contract, but it is likely that I would let him go and replace him in the draft.

Now if they felt his contract they could keep him with was a very good deal, sure, but keep him at what he is likely to get elsewhere? probably not. Its the unfortunate part of the cap that screws teams, fans and players over. Think of the number of lifelong cowboys in the past who would never have been lifelong cowboys had the cap be in place in the 70s.

I'm not sure getting rid of Tyron contract is a necessity. His number isn't horrible and if they can manage his health, still a great option to have on roster. Might trade him?

Cannot pay 12 or 13 million for a part time player. This is go time. We have a window. Cant be hanging on to guys that arent reliable. He has already been replaced by Tyler. Its over. We will need to resign Steele or find his replacement, and most likely draft a first round guard. Cowboys will be drafting in the 20's this year. Salary cap space is like gold right now.

He aint getting traded. Tyron will retire before he gets traded IMO.

He was a 4th round pick that contributed at a decent level right away. Also had a great year last year outside of the Bucs game, where half of the plays given up weren’t his fault. The criticism has never been warranted.

Lest not forget the Raiders game where he was flagged 4 times which resulted in 92 penalty yards including the crucial one in OT.

I agree, that's probably the case - but I don't think I would just release him.
Cap will not be an issue next year with restructures - UNLESS they decide they need to move off Dak as soon as they can and are willing to pay him the full $50 million cap hit

Keep in mind Quinn getting an HC job next year....... which could very well impact a few of our defensive free agents. As for AB......, $8-10M is my ceiling, otherwise, replace him via draft or free agency.

Won't be easy I think. Dak's cap figure will be a problem and kicking down the can won't help much with the forthcoming Diggs and Micah deals.

if they can manage his health,

No one can manage Tyron's health at this time.......his body is done IMO, similar to Romo. Knowledge and talent are still there but too much wear and tear. Hell, he's been playing since he was 20 years old.

It is time to move on from Tyron. Simply cant count on him and weve already struck gold and found his replacement. Im for doing whatever the team needs to do that gives us the absolute best cap relief. If that means releasing him, cutting him, retiring... whatever it takes. Im all about what is best for the team, not the player.

Similar to Romo? Similar to Dak. I think Tyron has played about the same number of games as Dak has the past 3 seasons. I guess he should retire?

Exactly why I think drafting a CB with a 2023 1st round pick will get strong consideration. Hell, we almost pulled the trigger on a CB last year in stead of drafting Parsons.

I agree and would not be shocked to see him retire at the end of the year. Cowboys would save over 9 mill on the cap.

Agree 100% ........look at it this way. Do you see him getting his starting job back, I don't. I think Jerry and Stephen quietly give him three options, stay on the team as a swing, retire or find a trading partner.

No, I think LT of the Cowboys now and for a while is Tyler Smith. Not sure about Cowboys giving him an option will not speculate on that. I know the plan was to have him at LT and Tyler at guard, injury put a halt to that. I don't see Tyron going to the bench as a swing tackle after having a great career. I think he will retire if not I think he will be released. I loved him on this team but like anything else time catches up

Not sure on that one. Kearse is signed another year. Hooker I think was just one year. Lots of guys look good in a great defense. Cant get caught overpaying for guys that all of a sudden look good in this defense.

- As the nature of NFL Free agency, you will always have NFL teams that are willing to pursue and overpay to chance strengthening their roster.

- We saw teams like Jax Jags make Barry Church quite a nice FA offer per his departure
..and he was an average player that was outta the league within the next two years.

- And Wilson seems to be a lot better player than Church was.

- Could we Stephen Jones believe they have their Wilson replacement in the waiting in Markus Bell or Israel M.? (Izzy)

No. I think someone is going to offer him way more than he deserves. We'll figure out #2 CB between all of the guys on our roster and all potential draft picks/free agents. You can't resign everyone and he is an example of the guy you can let go. Great pass rush. Diggs on other side. Almost always play at least one safety deep. Not exactly the toughest place to play

Brown has been a fantastic player on a fantastic contract for us for years. Would absolutely bring him back again for the right price. Offer up a similar 3 year deal with a slight pay increase for inflation.

wilson is a FA so i don't see them letting JK go.

zeke should net 5m. spotrac has dallas at about 8m cap space.

I would try to keep Wilson even if it means letting Kearse go. In any case, I think Wilson will be cheaper than Brown.
