Would you take 3-4?

Our best guess is that Romo is gonna miss 7 games.

So my question is simple: if you had the option right now to take a 3-4 record over the next 7 games for an overall record of 5-4 and then get Romo and Dez back healthy, would you take it? Or would you pass because you feel like we could do better?

can I pick the three wins?

yep....take it and run

I'd take 2-5 with a healthy Romo and Dez coming in fresh.

Only 1 game out of .500 with 7 games to go plus already won vs the Eagle and Gnats, face the Giants once and then the Skins twice during the last 7 game stretch.

@ 2-5 over 8 weeks with the bye, then Dez and Romo return 4-5....Dallas wins 5 of the last 7 and sweep the East @ 9-7.

Take it in a heart beat. We most likely have to beat Wshington twice down the stretch and we win the East....

I think it's probably eight and the only games I think we have little to no chance of winning is New England and Seattle. All the others, I think we have a good to OK chance of winning with Weedon.

Falcons don't really scare me from what I've seen.
Saints scare me with Brees at QB but who knows?
Giants did nothing against our D. With all their WRs back, maybe but will they all be back?
Eagles were horrible, even with no Dez or Tony, against us.
I think our Defense, with all our DLs back, will make it real tough against a rookie QB in Tampa.
Don't really know what the Fins are yet but they lost to the Skins.

Why can't we beat Seattle? Have you watched them play? They've looked like crap. They haven't been able to run the ball at all with Lynch. That line clearly misses Max Unger. Graham is useless in the run game. They don't have the receivers on the outside that can get consistent separation if they can get those linebackers coming up on play fakes to stop the run. Their defense is clearly not the same without Chancellor and there are no signs of his holdout end of anytime soon. He's their leader and does a lot of different things for them. He'll come up in run support, get isolated against tight ends, be the last line of defense on the back end, play at linebacker level in the middle of the field, and in two games they're giving up nearly 30 points a game.

As for New England yeah offensively they looked impressive against Buffalo, but defensively they gave up nearly 400 yards. If it wasn't for Taylor's turnovers they probably beat the Patriots. All Weeden has to is protect the football. New England isn't just gonna drive up and down the field against us especially now with the return of Greg Hardy, Rolando McClain, and Randy Gregory. We know Brady will cough up the ball if you push the pocket back, get in his face, and strip the football. We also know how much Rod preaches that.

I'm not scared of the mighty Pats especially after how their run defense has looked. Bring them on.

good post. I do worry about RoMac with his first game back being against Gronk. I think it will take a couple of games for him to break the rust free and get in game shape.

Our OL and run game will be key during this stretch. They have to get better.

Huh? There is zero situations where Rolando McClain would ever be in man coverage against Gronk, or any tight end for that matter. That's not what Ro does.

I think we can do better. Atlanta wasn't all that impressive to me in either of their two wins. Double Julio Jones and live with White or Hankerson beating you. Tevon Coleman will be out as well. New Orleans likely lost Drew Brees for the year. New England was great offensively against Buffalo, but their defense got shredded. Bills ran for 160 yards. Pittsburgh had success on the ground against them without Laveon Bell. No reason the Cowboys can't duplicate that running success. While our DL may be be as stout I believe our secondary and coverage linebackers are better.

Then there's the fact that we get three major boosts to the defense. Two explosive edge rushers in Hardy and Gregory. McClain in the middle paired with Lee is gonna be something special for us. With two superb downhill backers like that good luck to teams trying to run against that. They're also stout in pass coverage. McClain would be a great matchup for Gronk and can give him fits because of his size, strength, and length.

Really the rest of the games seem winnable. You've got Seattle, Philadelphia and New York again, and possibly Miami.

Not sure that there are any 100 yard rushers on this team. Christine needs to prove me wrong. Hope he does.

I would take it.

I am hoping that weeden got better and not worse. Hoping for 4-3 (6-3)

Don't need it. Randle gets 80, McFadden gets 80 and there's your 160 rush yards.

Sure it is. He's the only linebacker we have that can matchup with Gronk physically. He has the size and athleticism to fluster him. He can jam him and still have the speed to not be in a trailing position.

I didn't say we couldn't beat them. I think we do not have a very good chance of beating them. I think they will be able to stop the run against us and force us to beat them with the pass. They can score points with their QB play so that's not a favorable matchup IMO. Anybody can win or lose. I just don't like that match up for us.

As for New England, It's very difficult to sack Brady and they will score points. Without Tony, I don't see us as being a team who will be very good at high scoring shootout type games. Again, the match up does not look favorable to me.

You're out of your mind if you think that Ro Mac will be in coverage on Gronk.

Uh, dude, middle linebackers don't cover tight ends. Like ever.

Yeah, give me two glazed, one chocolate, and one with the sprinkle stuff.

Lee is the best match up on Gronk IMO. The problem is that they will move Gronk all over the place so it will likely be another LB or a Safety on many occasions. Probably a lot of zone stuff, which is what Gronk lives for. He loves to run the seam against the zone. Scores a lot of TDs against that.

Yes, I'd take it, and I think that's what will most likely happen.

I'm guessing Byron Jones will be on him a lot.

If the Cowboys could sweep the Eagles @ Dallas and @ Giants in weeks 7 and 9, you take 2-5 and run with it, Commanders come after Romo and Dez projected return.
