If Trevon gets even half of the INT's he got last season combined with the improvement you would expect from a young CB then, yes, he will attempt to be the highest paid CB. Even worse, I fully expect him to hold out before the 2023 season if he has another All Pro season.
The salary structures in the NFL needs to be amended, there is such an uneven distribution of available cap money throughout the entire NFL. I thought the contract inequalities would have corrected itself by now. You have something like the top 10% making half the cap money and there really isn't that wide of a separation in talent and productivity compared to the next tier of players at that position.
Should the "best" player at his position make five times as much as others ranked around the 5th to 8th best at their position? Of, course, I'm not using an exact example but I'm sure everyone gets my meaning.
- He won't hold out long before season starts as he'll be franchise tagged before an eventual deal with get done ..maybe same year playing with the tag, ... or being re-signed the following offseason.
- But while Stephen does not believe in signing outside vet- middle ground FA's .. he is and will commit to re-signing what he considers his own star-core players ..and Diggs and Micah will
be his priority re-signings
- Seeing what the Rams did despite supposedly up against red in cap space ,i'm not tripping with sizaable contracts,.. people trip too much in this sense.
