hm... maybe he neant jansen?
Still, I think it's pretty sad, you guys only have four homegrown players to like and love. Oh and I forgot you guys do have Jason Campbell, so that makes it five. Hmmm...

Not exactly the top dawgs at their position.

did you completly just disregard my previous post?
Not at all. You originally responded to Star4Ever with the following:

for the same reason why cowboy fans care who the Commanders sign.

why do you think the "skins sign smoot" thread was nearly 200 posts?

***

You gave an example of Smoot on a Davis thread.

Cowboy fans' reaction to Smoot's situation was of humor. Commander fans' reaction, as Star4Ever stated, questions the benefits of adding Davis to our offensive mainly because of the $$$ involved. No Commanders fan has countered how Davis would not be an upgrade over Rivera, so why the attention?

Just because we laugh (at length) at the Smoot situation does not mean that we place the same importance of his RE-insertion onto the Commanders roster as Davis' acquisition.

Uh....Ok.

Paying aging lb's big money early in free agency...that makes a lot of sense.

People are laughing at the skins...even fans of teams in the AFC who have no natural rivalry with the Skins are laughing at you.

And the fans of the skins....I swear if you guys were freezing in an igloo Snyder would be able to sell you ice cubes! ;)
I hope you use that same thought process should the 'boys sign Porter.

Just saying...

I'm not one.

I don't know why you'd want to pay a 32 year old LB $25 million. I don't know what the SB was, but I'm sure you overpaid....as always.

He's a player that's far past his prime. He isn't the type that will be a difference maker on your defense. So far, you've improved you defense marginally.

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

I supposed having his best career season last year means he's past his prime, right? I supposed not missing a single game in his career is horrible, right?

I'll just go out and assume that you know nothing about the guy with that statement.

He is a leader on the defense and is a great locker room guy. He has played under this system several years before.

And as for his height problem that someone else mentioned, as Fletcher stated in a press conference yesterday, the holes open up longways, not by it's height.

NO Guard with worth 20M guaranteed!

Well the market says otherwise, and for my money (which its not) a guard that solidifies your line so the backs can run and you could put Bledsoe back there and win is worth every penny he gets. If he works for us, I say great. I dont have a problem with overspending on the Oline, we have neglected the Oline long enough.

32 years old is not good for anyone EXCEPT maybe an O lineman- they can play well untill their mid 30s. Or a QB. Just how many RBs are good at 32? How many CBs? and for how long?

Not really!! Not anymore. I live here and I hear Deadskin fans complaining about Lil Danny all the time. They're not buying his game anymore. The older Ex Deadskins like Mann, Doc Walker, and B Mitch don't like Lil Danny and his ftrofc at all. If you get a chance, tune into WTEM.COM during the week. You will get a good idea and view of what the Deadskin fans think of Lil Danny..

Sean......that guy doesnt' know anything about Fletcher but you must admit from our perspective every year you sign these guys that on paper and in your forums get pumped up to the extreme (fletcher, smoot this year) but they rarely pan out for you yet we must hear how he was hand made by god, and eats ambrosia, and you guys are paying him with rice.

its ridiculous, lets not talk so much about the guys we sign until after they perform a little.

see ya

Is it really out of line anymore with what Clement, Dockery, Steinbach, Deilman , A Thomas, Weker all got?. Hell, I think we made McBriar the highest paid punter last week. Just think what players will get next year.

Dang...I had no idea last year was his best.

I remember watching him with the Rams....he was beginning to look washed up then.

And 32 years old? How many of those career years are left?

Sorry......no big improvement there....

skins & Gibbs is a smart dude he is here all the time not just to knock Davis and pump Fletcher but he no doubt will do that because he is a skins fan and the sins sign nothing other than the best......and we sign slobs

So let me get this straight....

We shouldn't extend Newman then because by the time he hits free agency he will be 30/31......?

He loves it here.. I'm telling ya, he's a closet Boyz fan. He and his buddy TOSSBURNER. They love that Blue-n-Silver... Check their post count!!!!!:lmao2:

Trolling for Info over at ES yesterday, They were split 50/50 on signing Davis just like we were, now that he's here he must be a Bum. I hear they are interested in Travis Fisher lets see how much they pay for a Nickel back.

If that was market value, so be it. But the market was a sellers' one this year, and a few average players really benefited.

This particular weekend of FA is going to change the face of the NFL, I'm afraid. Things will never be the same.

I disagree just like everything in the NFL times are changing. There was a time the Olineman period was not paid big bucks, nether were corners but as the game changes so does the economics. I'm hoping Davis pans outs, he was paid market value just like everyone else. Dockery was over paid also I saw everygame he played last year and he is an averge guard. But he got probowl money for being averge just like everyone else. But you need a solid line to compete in our division with the blitz happy eagles and skins you need a solid line to compete.
