I believe Tolbert and Fehoko are backups to different starting WRs. The one that needs to be worried is Turpin. He didn't show anything as a WR last season.
I believe both will be in the mix for the fourth receiver.

Good to see him beat Diggs on one of his catches. Didn't notice any against Gilmore. Part of the fool's gold with players in OTA, minicamps and even training camps is that they ball out against backups who the defense hopes never see the field. This is especially true of receivers, who already have an advantage in these drills because there is less contact and no pressure (time restraint) to get open.

Turpin made the pro bowl as a returner .. why does he have to worry about that ?

He's made a many plenty of almost broke it returns
Plus what other kind of competition is he gonna have at the punt returner role ?

Possibly Duece, but part of the excitement leading to camp are those specific battles.

Miles Austin is the only one I can think of that was this late. Even an Austin had more catches and yards after year to than Fehoko.
Wasn't Drew Pearson a 3rd year late bloomer? Noah Brown was a 5th year late bloomer. Cedrick Wilson Jr was a 3rd year late bloomer. Jimmy Smith was a 5th year late bloomer. Too bad the Cowboys gave up on him after barely his 2nd year. I'm sure there are more.

Un-possibly.. the dude Deuce has zero punt return experience ..and from what i've heard in the camps, is Turpin took in majority of returns

If anything preseason will have to be a training session for Deuce ..a the least vs someone well established whose made the Pro Bowl as a returner..

Because if rookie Deuce Vaughn (who right now is practicing fielding punts and kickoffs) suddenly catches on and shows good return ability during training camp and preseason, Turpin could be the odd man out since he did diddly squat as a receiver last year.

Turpin did diddly squat returning during the regular season last year. He was a preseason wonder.

Turpin's not going anywhere. People were hyping him as the next Devin Hester after preseason and now want to get rid of him because he wasn't. I warned everyone that the NFL is a step up and not to expect much from him and be happy with him flipping the field every so often. He did that so I was satisfied with him.

If Deuce shows that he can and proves to be valuable in some offensive packages than Turp very well could be gone.
Nobody knows at this point, and opinions are welcome always.

Drew Pearson had a 1000 yard season his second year. He had almost 400 receiving yards his rookie year. He was no late bloomer. Cedrick Wilson had 22 catches for just over 200 yards after his second season. That’s far more production than Fehoko. As for Jimmy Smith he had injuries, which is why he was a late bloomer.

The point is they were late bloomers. Take a chill pill and wait and see if Fehoko does something this 3rd year.

Kellen did not even ask Turpin to do squat as a WR....and return kicks is why they brought Turpin onto the team- not WR.

and there's been pro bowl returners that were just primarily returners ...ala Trindon Holliday, Jakeem Grant

And someone is a learning session as Deuce is ..is entirely different than someone that is already well-established and now recognized as one of the better returners in the NFL.

He's not likely to replace Turpin.. but what if Turpin gets hurt ? ... We dearly do need to find a suitable backup in the event of an injury.

then Deuce proves value as a critical backup if Turpin gets hurt. .

Interesting question.

We have an insurance policy in place if Gallup shows signs of struggling.
Fehoko
Brooks
Durden
Interesting depth there.

Behind Cooks
Tolbert
Houston

Behind Lamb
Turpin
Drummond
Cropper
How do we keep this many WRs in the roster

WR has improved, but not by a wide margin. Cooks is certainly an improvement, however, Amari Cooper is still a better receiver. Unless Gallup returns to form, we’re still not as good at WR as we were two years ago.
Two years ago we were only getting about 50% Cooper. WR this year HAS improved by a wide margin over last year, with Cooks, an improved Gallup, and an emerging Tolbert.

I'm optimistic about Gallup. Hopefully he can return to his old form. He was a solid player before his injury. This is a big year for him!

Jimmy Smith was the only one you mentioned that was a late bloomer and that was due to injuries. You’re the one who needs to take a chill pill. Every time I give an opinion you have a problem with it…relax! Not everyone gets all pumped up about every player like you do.
