In case anyone missed the news.......

WWE News: WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan Needs Tommy John Surgery, Out Indefinitely

It was reported during Comic-Con time that WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan would need another surgery. The WWE ring technician confirmed this at a press conference where he was speaking of a robbery which he helped to thwart. Most had no idea what type of surgery Bryan would need as the issue was neck related as well as shoulder. So it was a 50/50 shot to see which was the main issue. Doctors found that it was mainly the arm, which allowed them to come to a conclusion on the surgery he needed.

David Shoemaker of D******n is reporting that Bryan will indeed go under the knife and have the famed Tommy John Surgery. This is a famous surgery for Baseball pitchers due to the stress they put their arms under to throw a ball so often. In fact, the surgery is named after a Los Angeles Dodger pitcher named, of course, Tommy John. He was the first to do this surgery in 1974, which turned out to be a major success. It is done often on pro-athletes every year. So most surgeons have seen the surgery and come by them more than once a year.

Due to the medical advancements we have made since 1974, both recovery time and how the surgery is done have improved but not drastically. That being said, Bryan will be in good hands but the WWE cannot rush a return. To my knowledge, he would be the first WWE Superstar to require this surgery.

What's the over/under on number of matches Brock actually takes part in before next WrestleMania? 3? 4? I hate that they put the brand new belt on what will probably be a part time non-wrestling champion. Hope I'm wrong.

He will only wrestle at the PPV's. So I'd guess how many ever PPV's that is between now and then that's all the wrestling you'll see him do.

This move isn't surprising to me. I said a month ago when they announced him against Cena that I felt he'd beat Cena and hold the belt till Mania when someone would finally unseat the unbeatable beast. I figured this would be someone like Bryan or hopefully a returning Punk but I Reigns did seem like the most likely choice. It allows Reigns to be the next beast of the WWE.

One thing they can do to make business "better" is get rid of that Kane guy. I don't know his past history but it has to be better than what he does on there now.

Give the tag belts to another team besides those USO guys.

I guess WWE is one of the businesses where they reward guys who rarely are asked to have a match over the guys who are there day in day out. In some ways I get that because it's all about the money but even though I don't like him at least John Cena is there all the time. Well most of it.

I have a feeling Brock will lose in some kind of crazy match that the Authority will put him in and set up Rollins to win the belt and face Bryan or Reigns @ WrestleMania.

Brock I think will face the Rock @ WrestleMania. I don't see Brock losing to anyone that is a full time wrestler. Part time, I see HHH, Batista, or Rock.

I think, pretty much, other than the Heavy weight title, the others, really do not mean, what they used to. Before, the Intercontinental, meant you were being primed for the Heavy Weight, ala Bret Hart, Ultimate Warrior, now they really mean, nothing.

They should bring back the hardcore belt. :D

I do not think, that plays into the whole, PC thing they are trying to create, for Linda.

Probably not... and I always thought it was a silly title. But I really miss seeing guys get hit over the head with those aluminum foil trash cans.

At some point it has to become physically not worth it anymore.

it is his 2nd major injury in his 15 year career lol. the first was a detached retina caused by a 300 pound Japanese man shooting on Bryan and hitting him with a lot force with stomps. He's been more a less an iron-man throughout his career. His days of throwing a perfect 12-6 curveball are over but he still has a ton of years left in him.

I barely know a thing about him so you can stifle the laughing. All I know is ever since I have been hearing his name it's concerning surgeries for whatever it is he has going on. I frankly don't care if he comes back or not.

That's the injuries that kept him out for whatever amount of time.

These guys are dinged up, and hurt, all the time. I can bet you that those are not the only two times he's been injured. He's simply wrestled through the others.

That's what these guys do, especially the ones who truly love it, and so you're right about one thing Bryan will probably go on wrestling for a long time simply because it's his passion. But to think he's only been major injured 2 times is probably not really likely.

These guys wrestle with things they simply shouldn't, on a regular basis, simply because they don't want to give up their spots, or lose momentum, and are very passionate about being the best at what they do.

Shoot Stone Cold Steve Austin wrestled for years with serious neck, arm, and knee issues. He didn't want to slow down, despite the fact that his body was telling him it was needed, because he was the most popular guy in the world and loved what he was doing.

And Stone Cold had a relatively short career. Think of guys like Harley Race who wrestled for 30+ years and the physical toll it took. I can't imagine the punishment he put his body through.

Very true. These guys make decisions on that kind of stuff a lot more often then people realize. If you're on the biggest high of being the biggest name in the world at the time I guess you'll continue to wrestle through things you probably shouldn't have even considered it.

But then in their line of work if you're gone any amount of time there is a good chance they'll replace you and you'll never get close to getting back to where you once were.

You hit upon a very key point right there.

You were only as good as your drawing power in the last territory you were in.

There are many examples of guys suddenly becoming "mid-carders" and never being able to reclaim their spots at the top of cards.

It's become so much worse now too with only basically 2 national places with which to work.

Unless you go to Mexico, or overseas, and just love being in that area of work, or you're with being big in the more underground of ROH, then they don't have a whole lot of main event spots anymore with just WWE and TNA out there.

The lack of competition in their business is terrible.
