What do you guys think of Bad News Barrett and Sheamus?

Bad News Barrett is a horrible gimmick being saddled on a quality worker. Barrett is a darn good wrestler, with solid mic skills, and he's been pretty much habitually wasted by the WWE the entire time he's been there. He was the best part of the Nexus invasion angle a few years ago and they've managed to completely blow that in short order.

Sheamus is...ehhhh....average. He's never been all that good. He's been average at best both in the ring and on the mic. The only thing is that he's a big dude and he's willing to take unbelievable punishment in order to get over with the fans and stay near the top. He's alright but he's nothing that makes me watch the show.

The WWE doesn't have enough talent to do what they want to do nationally...

Here's a current roster of active wrestlers I found off of one website:

BABYFACE ROSTER

HEEL ROSTER

That's 42 wrestlers to cover the entire country.

Now compare that to the Mid-Atlantic Wrestling Jan.-Mar 1977 roster:

MAIN EVENT

(Faces) Dino Bravo, Mighty Igor, Paul Jones (D), Rufus R. Jones, Wahoo McDaniel, "Mr. Wrestling" Tim Woods (D)

(Heels) Kim Duk, Ric Flair, Blackjack Mulligan, Masked Superstar, Greg Valentine

MID-CARD

(Faces) Tony Atlas (D), Red Bastien, Tiger Conway, "Cowboy" Frankie Lane, Ricky Steamboat (N), Johnny Weaver (R)

(Heels) Brute Bernard, Jerry Blackwell, Jerry Brown (Hollywood Blondes) (N), Sgt. Jacques Goulet, Lanny Poffo, Randy Poffo, Buddy Roberts (Hollywood Blondes) (N)

LOWER CARD

(Faces) Klondike Bill, Steve Bolus (D), Dan Burdick (N), "Big" Bill Dromo (N), Johnny Eagle, Francisco Flores, Keith Franks, Dr. Fujinami (D), Herb Gallant, Rick McGraw (N), Danny Miller, Vic Rosetani (D), Joey Rossi (D), Ron Starr

(Heels) Dennis Condry (N), Jack Evans (D), Ricky Ferrara (R), George "Two Ton" Harris, Scott Irwin (N), Butch Malone (N), Angelo Poffo (D), Tony Russo Larry Sharpe (R) Blue Scorpion, Doug Sommers, Bill White, Mr. X (N)

GUEST SHOTS

Gene Anderson (Georgia), Ole Anderson (Georgia), Andre The Giant, Giant Baba (All Japan), Dory Funk, Jr. (Florida/Texas), Gladiators, Superstar Billy Graham (WWF), "Professor" Boris Malenko (wrestled infrequently), Mil Mascaras (WWF/Mexico), Ken Patera (WWF), Thunderbolt Patterson (Georgia), Harley Race (NWA Champion), Dusty Rhodes (Florida), Tenriu (All Japan), Jumbo Tsuruta (All Japan), Baron Von Raschke (AWA)

That's 50 wrestlers WITHOUT the guest appearances.

And that's just to cover a small part of the country.

That could lead to some serious ramifications for Vince & co.

I followed the link and took a look at some of the comments others posted:
I read those also. It doesn't sound like the profit line and expense line are going to cross any time soon. At some point a serious decision will need to be made about the future of the company.

This is interesting...

It's a list of the NWA Champion title defenses in house shows within the Mid-Atlantic territory in 1976:

It's interesting how the champion was used.

Again, this was one of the beauties of the territory system. An appearance by the NWA champion was truly something special because it didn't happen often.

Jake the Snake Roberts is in intensive care.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...ts-hospitalized-pneumonia-las-vegas/14765261/

WWE legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts has been hospitalized and is in intensive care after being diagnosed with double pneumonia, WrestlingInc.com reported Thursday.

A hospital spokeswoman in Las Vegas confirmed to USA TODAY Sports that Roberts was admitted.

According to the WrestlingInc.com, Roberts flew Wednesday to Las Vegas to appear in a show promoted by Sinn Bodhi, and became unconscious on the plane.

Roberts was in a coma that lasted nearly 24 hours but was out of it as of Thursday night, according to the website.

RVD's 90 day contract is over so he's gone. Where's Chris Jericho?

What you were saying about Barrett reminds me of Drew McIntyre and how badly he was misused. Have a look on YouTube for his return to ICW based in Glasgow under his original name of Drew Galloway. Won't link to the video due to the language used but it's well worth watching

I'll have to look that up but I dont doubt it was quality stuff. The guy was good on the indy scene before he got to the WWE and got ruined.

Speaking of ruined I am trying to watch RAW from last night this morning.

Growing Up Bella? That's all they can come up with? No Bray wrestling?

A VERY bad show. Wait till football starts. They will have folks tuning out by the thousands.

You are so right.

Dear Lord, my goodness. What a fricking travesty. I just "watched" my DVR'd RAW (3 hour show) in....oh, about 34 minutes and 12 seconds.

Ridiculously bad. My have the mighty fallen. I may just have to take a break from this crap. For, like, maybe, years.

That is why my WWE viewing is limited during the regular season. To take that a step further, wait until Smackdown moves to Thursday and tried to compete with the NFL and college football.

That's pretty amazing. I watched the first 2 hours and recorded the last 70 or so minutes. When I watched the recorded part in about 20 minutes this morning I thought it was an accomplishment.

I am sure this Bella overload is due to their stupid "reality" show starting up again. They are both awful.

WWE sucks right now. I don't know how you long time fans stomach it.

Did you guys hear that they're bringing in Jerry Springer on next Monday's Raw for the Bella feud.....

I'd like to say I'm surprised but I'm not. I heard people chanting "boring" during this weeks show. I have actually never watched Jerry Springer but I know who he is. And what kind of show he has on.

Can't say that I am surprised!

"For those still wondering, the split between The Bella Twins was something the Total Divas producers wanted for season 3. WWE is just producing this current split angle for Total Divas. They will likely be back together before the end of season 3."

It's obvious this is all scripted for that dumb show which is all scripted anyway.

I don't think they are fooling anyone. Their acting is awful.

What's awful is that wrestling talents sit backstage while they waste 30 minutes a week on RAW with these silly stories when we could be watching wrestling!

Wasn't that HHH guy a wrestler? Surely he knows their current product sucks with this type of stuff. Doesn't he have any power to say how about more wrestling & less crap like the Bella's?

Yeah HHH was a wrestler and was one of the top WWE wrestlers during the Attitude Era. Now that he's Vince's son in law he's got a lot of pull in the company. A lot of people think this is Vince's idea with the Bella feud but some think this has Stephanie written all over it. I know HHH is really involved with NXT but as far as creative goes I think a lot of it is still Vince. I heard HHH and Vince butt heads on some things so maybe HHH doesn't like this angle?
