I think she looks like she had a ton of work done. Though she looked a lot better in the flashback scenes in episode 2.

She certainly didn't look like this in Hannibal a few years ago. Had to have been recent.

lol... yeh too much work... age gracefully... but tv & movie personalities feel the pressure...

anyway... can't do the new x-files... i'd rather have the old memories of the old 16mm show...

but I hope everyone enjoys...

Sorry you're missing it Ron.

The 2nd episode was classic X-Files.

Very enjoyable.

Nice seeing the X-Files "script" pop-up in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen... Like an old friend. :)

My wife said she looked normal in The Fall, so it is I guess.

I never watched the original X-Files, although I know the general plot. I just started watching this. 2 episodes in, and I like it a lot.

I agree. I thought I had this episode figured out fairly quickly but it proved to throw me off guard by how it turned out. Good job Chris Carter. Gillian was looking good tonight, IMO.

I thought this episode seemed really dated. It is exactly what was wrong with TV 15+ years ago. It is a single serving episode that really does nothing to contribute to the overall story arc. Star Trek and Stargate: SG1 had way too many of these filler episodes.

Using 1/6 episodes on something that does nothing to move the overall plot along is pretty lame, to me.

But what you're not getting B0b is that these one-week episode fillers are a staple of the X-Files universe. Many of the very best episodes were MOW's (monster of the week).

They simply couldn't slog through twenty-some episodes a season with the same goal - Uncover the conspiracy.

The conspiracy-plot will never have an end point... no matter if they had 6 episodes or 60. The carrot will always be dangling.

Yeah, I get that. In a 20+ episode season, it makes a lot of sense. In a 6 episode mini-series, I found it pretty out of place. I'm still going to finish it, as I am half way through it.

I agree the best episodes did not deal with the mythology.

"Home"

Those single show topics were Chris Carter's connection to back to "Kolchak the Night Stalker" which greatly influenced him.

They went a long way toward getting to know more about Mulder and Scully too. The humor and love they had for each other grew through those shows.

Exactly. Almost immediately, you could tell it was a "Monster of the Week" episode when there's only 6 episodes in the whole season. It felt like a throwaway.

I dunno. I think the return has been alright. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed though.

I own the entire series on DVD so you can be assured I will be buying this mini-series once it is released on disc. I bought them one season at a time as they were released. For anyone interested and remembers the episode "Home"... the next episode is called "Home Again". I can't wait.

I guess I don't understand the throwaway comment... Anyone that's watched the series for any length of time knows that "MOW" episodes were probably a 1/3 of those presented. Those are the X-files just as much as the conspiracy angle.

Personally I think if they had stuck to the conspiracy angle for every episode the show wouldn't have gotten past a couple seasons. Even at the end the whole conspiracy thing was worn out with the "Universal soldier" angle.

A little disappointed with that one. When I saw Home Again I was expecting the mutant family's return.

I have said it multiple times over the years....The episode HOME was one of the most disturbing things I ever watched on TV at that time. Be hard to reach that level again but who knows.

Update: Did not realize the one last night was Home Again...did not really have much tie in...should have been called...homeless instead of home again.

Although the band aid man would tear people apart in dramatic fashion...nowhere near the creepy or disturb factor of the original home episode.
