Dez put himself in a bad situation when he chose his vendetta with the Cowboys over a dang good offer from the Ravens. He wants to play the Cowboys twice a year and that just isn't happening. Sorry Dez, but you lose.

At least he can use that an excuse as to why he's not with a team right now. He missed out when all the other WR's were available. Anyone feeling sorry for a guy turning down 7M a year because he wants some payback has an overabundance of sympathy.

He was going to be a no show as a tagged player, that makes him a Grade A awesome person in my book. He wasn't going to take a pay cut and then gets mad when he's cut. Bigger awesome person.

Maybe the Dezzies can have a fundraiser for him before he has to get his monkey back, grab an organ and hit the streets.

Wasn’t he offered a contract with Baltimore? Didn’t Jones make him a millionaire? Please, Jerry put me in Dez’s situation, I’ll go away with my money quietly...LOL...poor Dez.

Honestly, I don’t think it mattered when DB was released.

I still think he’d unsigned by this point regardless if it happened at the beginning of the offseason.

It's the fall back position for the Dez Fan Bois from the initial position that "Dez will NEVER be cut". Lmao. Good times!!!

Hate to belabor Dez stuff but since this was a stance some took here, I thought I’d at least report the article for board consumption

But the Cowboys waited more than a month into free agency to cut him. Why? We really don’t know. The Cowboys have talked around that, but again, if they weren’t going to keep Bryant on a pay cut, there was no real reason to wait other than indecision. By April 13, the bulk of NFL free agency is done. Cutting Bryant late wasn’t a help to the Cowboys, who couldn’t use the cap savings on any top-shelf free agents, and it sure didn’t help Bryant.

We signed Hurns on March 23, so Dez was cut three weeks after we secured his replacement. I'm not sure, though, that the front office was absolutely sold on Hurns being Dez's replacement. Sammy Watkins was the player the team targeted to replace Dez, but went for higher than I think Dallas thought he would (the usual theme for free agency). At that point, the possibility of replacing Dez likely seemed dead until Hurns was released. The Cowboys worked to quickly secure him and then IMO took time to talk over whether signing him was enough to move on from Bryant.

he was offered a 3 year 21 million dollar contract
and turned it down?

no wonder other terms are not beating down his door.

Nothing can be done about that now. Some of us are trying to focus on the team we have now and moving forward. These stupid Dez threads are going to get me banned if it keeps up.

It’s the off-season maybe you don’t have to be so glued to the forum that it actually bothers you?

My point is everyone’s acting like they never liked the guy and he is not in fact the all time ya leader and he did not make Countless game changing plays for us.

The guy had a target on his back from day 1 and balled out. Never got into any ....actual legal trouble. Put up with joe buck and Troy aikmans ****. It was a fun ride

Jerry did put him in a bad situation, but Dez also hasn't helped himself much either
Perfectly put. He put him in bad situation because of the draft but he hasn’t helped his case. Hasn’t played up to what he once was and his mouth always hasn’t helped him. Shoulda took ravens offer

I can't believe Dez turned down a contract with the Ravens. Not smart on his part. So if he continues to be a free agent that is on him. If he never got an offer I would say it's the Cowboys fault for releasing him so late but he turned one down so that puts the onus back on him.
