It's not like you're going to find Dez homeless under the bridge.

It’s the off-season maybe you don’t have to be so glued to the forum that it actually bothers you?

My point is everyone’s acting like they never liked the guy and he is not in fact the all time ya leader and he did not make Countless game changing plays for us.

The guy had a target on his back from day 1 and balled out. Never got into any ....actual legal trouble. Put up with joe buck and Troy aikmans ****. It was a fun ride

Dude.Glued to the forum? I have a grand total of 583 posts in umpteen years. I was watching the draft room cam when Jerry reached for the phone to make the trade. I was pleading that it be Dez. I wanted him from his sophomore year at OK State. Plus I have a ton of family that lives near Lufkin TX. That's where Dez played high school football. I was yelling and doing fist pumps when we drafted him.

Truth is, he never tried his best for the Cowboys.

Never tried to work on his route running.

Never learned the entire playbook.

Never cared to get better.

Once Romo left, he should've helped the new QB by working harder.

Then, weeks before he was released, he announces that he is going to focus on his route running. Thanks, Bro. Now you want to try since that next contract is in sight.

There's the door.

Hate to belabor Dez stuff but since this was a stance some took here, I thought I’d at least report the article for board consumption

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/jerry-...boys-late-release-hurt-chances-150622751.html

But the Cowboys waited more than a month into free agency to cut him. Why? We really don’t know. The Cowboys have talked around that, but again, if they weren’t going to keep Bryant on a pay cut, there was no real reason to wait other than indecision. By April 13, the bulk of NFL free agency is done. Cutting Bryant late wasn’t a help to the Cowboys, who couldn’t use the cap savings on any top-shelf free agents, and it sure didn’t help Bryant.

The article says there was no reason not to release Dez when free agency began on March 9, but the Cowboys didn't agree to terms with Allen Hurns until March 23, and I assume the contract was signed a day or two later, so it's very reasonable to expect that the team wanted to sign another receiver before releasing Dez. Even then the team may still have been weighing its options since Hurns wasn't that expensive, and they might have been considering whether to keep Dez in addition to signing Hurns. Botto line is maybe the team could have released Dez a little sooner, but the delay was likely not nearly as long as the article suggests. After all, the team's first priority is the team.

He'll get picked up by a team eventually. He might not get the big dollars, but Dez will not sit the whole season unless he chooses to.

Here is something to think about. If teams wait until injury and bring Dez on without a full off season, and training camp, he will fail.

Dez is that kid who was moved to the other end of the room in grade school and the teacher worked with him. If Dez doesn't get that work, what does he bring? I have heard from the local "coaches" here that he runs all these routes. I have seen video by people who are not pros, but just fan wannabes telling me all the routes he ran.

I have seem three years of Dez injuries and poor production.

The team was making comments about working with Dez. But again, this is an eight year pro, and the team is getting a new WR coach and they have to get Dez' mind right to go out and do what he should be doing anyway.

They gave you more money than most people earn in a life time. That means something.

Think Jerry had to EVER ask Irvin to earn his paycheck?

If you are a Dez fan and this irritates you. I apologize. But truth is I had been souring on this guy over the 2017 season. Now watching the All or Nothing this just confirms this is a child-like mind in a guy who once had immense talent.

And consider this, For Jones to agree to send one of his favorites packing, there had to be enough cause that the other people in the room convinced him this was a positive move. Jones doesn't let go of his pet cats easily. And that may be why they waited to release him. Jerry needed further convincing.

But the onus falls on Dez and his attitude and behavior. And what the team had to go through to get the guy to perform.

That woman you're dating may turn heads when your out, and may be the best lay you ever had. But if she is a whiny biatch that is always negative and never satisfied, you fire her. There are just too many good women who back their guy and are positive to put up with Ms. Thing.

Evidently the team found a few of them.

Thank you. I really enjoyed reading that.

Well, they did put him in a bad situation by cutting him when they did, but he played a role in his current predicament by turning down the Ravens (so far). Got to give him credit for wanting a 1 year prove your worth contract though. Takes guts to put your body on the line for a one year deal with zero guarantees.

I really don’t care. He put the team in a bad situation every time the ball clanked off his hands and by demanding top dollar and then letting his skills diminish. Personally, I don’t care one bit if he ever plays again or not.

Yup, he could've been on the Ravens, but, at this point, he'll be making much less than he would've if he had just taken the paycut. That's the stupid part about it. He wanted more money? Okay, then take the paycut this year, play your butt off, and more teams will bite.

A paycut was not offered.
