I prefer franks personally.

Any desire to say "I told you so!" quickly disappeared when I saw that your real name is Dick Hunt. I just felt bad. You've probably been through enough dealing with that name your whole life. :)
Kudos to you for admitting you were wrong.

Nice post YR but I knew you would eventually come around to recognizing how good Romo truly is. :D

Thanks for posting this though, not many would admit to it.

Nothing wrong with stating your opinion especially when it's done with some form of intelligence and not a consistent blathering of nothing more than blind hate............... Like my Jerry Jones posts. Heh..............:

I still can't see how anyone watching this team could place all of it's woes's on the shoulders of Tony Romo. ESPECIALLY the "December Collapses". I just never saw that. He's had a few bad games to be sure but I'm not so quick to discount other tangibles on this football team contributing to a certain extent.

I've always felt lucky to have this kid on this team. He's a good guy, can't go wrong with him as the face of our franchise. What he's done for us as a QB IMO, is beyond expectation.

He's a Dallas Cowboy. If he was anything else......we'd hate him.

Give Romo another speedster at WR and this offense truly will be Romo Friendly.

BTW, props on making good on your words.

rawr is done baiting you in game day chats about this issue.

We knew this already.

In watching the game yesterday, particularly on the 4th and inches calls.... were you screaming at the TV for the midget QB sneak offense like I was?

What is funny is you come out after Romo posts an 86.07 QB rating rather than his normal 90+ rating.

Of course, just to show you how subjective QB rating for a single game can be, if that pass to you know who :)yousuck:) would have been caught / knocked down rather than popped straight up in the air, his rating would have been 97.03. (same stats without the INT) Thats about an 11 point swing all because of Captain Suck*** wide receiver extraordinaire.

Way to man up YR,

but we all have our opinions and we all make our shares of mistakes.

I also proclaimed that Romo could be another Scott Mitchell.......Im so happy that I was wrong about that.

Lets just hope this team continues to grow and make a push in these playoffs.

You're a good guy and an excellent writer. Always look forward to reading your stuff Rich.

Hope the holidays are treating you well.

I don't understand the whole, "that took guts too do" responses. I also felt like Romo might have been losing his swagger, atleast we still have the barbarian to pound it on 4th and 1. lolzing

Scott Mitchell is on the Cowboy roster. He is wearing number 11.

But, I was dead wrong.

I was wondering when this post would show up.

Are you going to start up your meaningless thoughts threads again? I have missed those.

After the week 2 loss to the G-Men, I announced that I felt that the Cowboys needed to start looking for a suitable replacement for Romo in the offseason. I also stated that if he proved me wrong, then I would admit that I was indeed wrong.

Well, here I am with this post admitting I was dead wrong.

Obviously, the team hasn't 'done anything', yet. However, Romo has proven to me that he can get it done in December and beyond and I feel that way even though the team is 2-2 so far in December with one game left.

I just feel that Romo's play after that week 2 loss, particularly this December, warrants an admission of error. At the time I felt that Romo turned the ball over too much, had lost his ability to anticipate on throws, and was not a good leader.

Again, that's obviously incorrect now. He has the second best INT rate (next to Aaron Rodgers) and hasn't really fumbled the ball much this year. His anticipation came back once Miles Austin was named the starter. And he's been a much more noticeable vocal leader of the team. I didn't think he had any of these qualities in him.

But, I was dead wrong.

So I would like to be up front about my errors in judgement and could perfectly understand if my credibility towards my opinions on QB's are questioned. I'd also like to mention that posters like theogt and casmith were correct while I was obviously wrong. And if I forgot to mention anybody else that disputed my claims, then I apologize.

Lastly, feel free to bump this thread since I want it made clear that I am a man of my word and that when I said I would post that I was dead wrong on Romo that I meant it and I do not want this thread to get lost in the shuffle.

Sincerely

Rich Hunt (aka Yakuza Rich)

I didnt bag on you then and I wont now.

I understood where you were coming from. Romo had talked and talked and talked about doing things differently... THEN he singlehandedly handed the Giants that game. So I understood. I, too, wondered if he would right his ship. I was skeptical but I wanted to wait.

It was worth the wait. :)

I was at the game. I screamed for the midget offense on the second 4th down attempt, and the Commanders fans next to me thought it would be a great idea.
