:laugh2: He's not the only one, either. I've got an ignore list of people who should co-sign a man-up post like the one Rich just wrote.

The latest overhyped, overrated QB to come out of Notre Dame. Natch.

Jimmy Clausen

Well like they said on the FOX pre game show none of the QB's coming into this draft look like franchise QB. I do not see Dallas using a 1st on any QB in this draft. I say that and I'm a big Colt McCoy fan but I have major questions about him as well as the other QB's in this draft in terms of taking a 1st rd risk on them.

After the week 2 loss to the G-Men, I announced that I felt that the Cowboys needed to start looking for a suitable replacement for Romo in the offseason. I also stated that if he proved me wrong, then I would admit that I was indeed wrong.

Well, here I am with this post admitting I was dead wrong.

Obviously, the team hasn't 'done anything', yet. However, Romo has proven to me that he can get it done in December and beyond and I feel that way even though the team is 2-2 so far in December with one game left.

I just feel that Romo's play after that week 2 loss, particularly this December, warrants an admission of error. At the time I felt that Romo turned the ball over too much, had lost his ability to anticipate on throws, and was not a good leader.

Again, that's obviously incorrect now. He has the second best INT rate (next to Aaron Rodgers) and hasn't really fumbled the ball much this year. His anticipation came back once Miles Austin was named the starter. And he's been a much more noticeable vocal leader of the team. I didn't think he had any of these qualities in him.

But, I was dead wrong.

So I would like to be up front about my errors in judgement and could perfectly understand if my credibility towards my opinions on QB's are questioned. I'd also like to mention that posters like theogt and casmith were correct while I was obviously wrong. And if I forgot to mention anybody else that disputed my claims, then I apologize.

Lastly, feel free to bump this thread since I want it made clear that I am a man of my word and that when I said I would post that I was dead wrong on Romo that I meant it and I do not want this thread to get lost in the shuffle.

Sincerely

Rich Hunt (aka Yakuza Rich)

Well the Giants game was good timing for a Romo meltdown. No bigger Romo homer on this site than I and I seriously had my faith dented that night.

Thank you for owning up like a man.

And for the record I thought all those who doubted Romo were crazy. I may be a homer, but I've been behind the guy at all times from day one.

If you were a homer then you would have felt Qunicy Carter was going to be the real deal.

I don't know about you but after a couple of season I saw very little in Carter to make me think he would ever be a major impact player for the Cowboys. Romo on the other hand showed me a lot in the 06 season to know we needed to stick with this guy

Rich, I am going to be honest with you. When I think of those who needlessly rag on Tony Romo and need to show some sack and eat some crow, you have not been on that list. There is a huge difference between your doubts about Tony Romo and some of them that get expressed on this forum. You do not say things merely to stir up crap. You genuinely know the game, have strong opinions, and do what you can to reinforce them. I respect the hell out of you for that.

Most of the anti-Tony shills I have very little respect for, and even less use for. I think they could combine their football intellects together and still fall behind you in football knowledge. I can disagree with you and have it be an intelligent, civil discussion. Even if we disagree vehemently. I wish we had a rule where we can simply ban someone for being a worthless contributor to the forum. But that is too heavy handed. Unfortunately, as long as some people stay within the Guidelines we allow them to be stupid.

You aren't stupid. You never have been. There's no shame in being wrong. We all are from time to time. Kudos to you.

I agree with one other person who misses your "Meaningless Thoughts on the Game" threads. They were anything but meaningless to me. I look forward to them like very few other regular threads.

We need a winner.

What leadership? The players voted to not go to a bowl game if invited. A true leader would have compelled his team mates that a bowl game would be a good thing because it would have been a good their program. It would give them extra practices to jump start the next season. It would showcase their team and the individuals if have aspirations of going to the NFL.

Most of the successful QBs in NFL history did not have So-Cal pisazz. Trust me it is not a requirement and may be a detriment.

Clausen's swag seems like the next coming of Jeff George.
