There's not even a primary quote in the article.

They're reacting to a tweet referenced in the article that summarized a Garrett commment about the 'passing game' and that changed it instead to be a reference to 'Dak.'

After listening to Garrett's comments in their entirety, he (predictably) didn't even remotely throw Dak under the bus. He almost never calls out specific players. He did what he always does, which is talk collectively about the team offense and the team defense. Criticizing the team offense for not being able to get Denver out of what they wanted to do to the running game, and criticizing the team defense for not being able to get off the field on 3rd downs.

It was Dak who threw himself under the bus, explicitly. A good sign if you're on the receiving end of a stomping like that one.

After the Cowboys first loss of the season, head coach Jason Garrett placed the blame squarely the passing game.

There were more than a few things that could be pointed to as reasons why the Cowboys were not victorious. Garrett took aim at Prescott.

Jason Garrett put the blame squarely on Dak Prescott's inability to make plays in the passing game

It has been noted on several occasions Prescott is cautious with the ball, often preferring to take the safe option over making a risky throw down the field. However, the approach helped Prescott to a stellar rookie season and Pro Bowl nod last year. And, Dallas was 13-3 during the regular season in games he started.

Dak played like crap along with most of the rest of the team. Does he need to play better?, yep. Does his performance reflect the utter lack of a running game? yep Does his performance reflect an elite OL playing like total crap?, yep

Garrett is deflecting because he knows just as well as anyone that he is not a big game coach. He got owned by a usually clueless Mike McCarthy last January and now just got absolutely steam rolled by a rookie head coach's gameplan.

He has built his win record on the backs of sub-0.500 teams.

Likely go no where with Garrett as coach

Never prepared for unique situations.

Its not just that he is NOT prepared for some of these unique situations. But as they are happening, he has NO way to change it while its happening. NOTHING!! NO creativity, no new wrinkle, no buttons to push, NADA!!!!

I do. Linehan also for sure. Probably more so on the lack of creativity side. Lets hope they learn from this. They didnt play Denver, in Denver last year. Giants were the best they saw and that is nothing compared to Denver at home.

I just dont see Garrett as a difference maker. Administrator, likeable guy that is a great front runner. But what happens when things go badly? When you really need a head coach to fire up his guys or come up with inventive game plans? A guy that is ahead of the curve instead of following the curve.

This whole game is all jG's fault and no one else's. He is the HC.

Literally, one of the dumbest posts I've ever seen on here.

You obviously have no clue how many different people influence/impact the outcome of an NFL football game.

There is plenty of blame to go around for yesterday's performance, and plenty of people to share that blame.

We've missed you around here JG! Welcome back. And don't let the 40 something likes scare you....;)

That's a little simplistic; the coach is not responsible for players who have a bad game.

Prescott missed receivers during the game, and he was clearly hesitant. On one play for a first down, he had Beasley wide open over the middle, was looking at him, but didn't pull the trigger, double clutched, then threw it into the ground as the next defender approached to shut Beasley's path. it happens. Dak didn't play well, and on offense, any team can stop the run anytime they want, no matter how good the OL is, if they want to do so. Then the QB and receivers have to take over.

Since when? The only team to follow that model in the last decade was the Seahawks a few years ago.

I want you to think really hard about recent super bowl winners..

Besides tom brady and the patriots who wins super bowls with a GOAT??

Steelers, giants, ravens, seahawks, broncos(we all saw peyton wasnt the reason they won that one) what did they all have in common

Just watched the presser and immediately was confused by this thread and some of the comments.

The O line was bad, Dak was bad, Zeke was bad, Dez was bad, the offensive coaching was bad and the defense was basically using tackling pads in the secondary. The only bright spots were Lawrence and Wit. This lose was on the WHOLE team. Not just JG or Dak!

Dak tries so hard to avoid turnovers that he doesn't always pull the trigger. But he's going to learn that sometimes you have to be daring and make the throw even though an interception may be a fingernail away.
I said last year he would have more interceptions this year but will become a better passer.
He'll bounce back from this.

Despite being a cheater, Bellichek has the longest successful tenure as a HC in the modern game, because he never remains stagnant and adjusts his game plan in light of the changes. His right hand man Adams and him are always learning.

We have the second longest tenure of a coach only because he's the golden child of Jerry Jones. A guy who has shown no ability to innovate or give any sense of direction. Jones has never had problems with firing people who can't get the job done unless it comes to this guy and his family in general.

I could even tolerate a Linehan experiment if it means getting rid of this guy.

Romo mentioned Belichick would actually run bogus plays during garbage time to screw up the analytics so that other teams can't easily determine Patriots tendencies. That's the kind of innovative thinking that got him 5SB rings. Compare that to JG who punts on 4th and 3 down by 3 scores with 10 minutes to play. SMH.
