Romo was on a team with 12 other pro bowlers. He had a HOF tight end (Witten). He had 2 top 5 WRs in their primes - Dez Bryant/Terrell Owens. I won't count Miles Austin because we agree...that was as much Romo as it was him.I knew Romo would be brought in to this....as usual.
"Dak sucks!"
"Oh yeah...well ROMO SUCKS MORE!"
Romo made average receivers look really good. Romo would put the team on his back...and often did succeed only to have to do it time and time again. The odds are eventually a failure happens. ROmo has very good 4th gtq numbers and come from behind wins. I'm not going to post them yet AGAIN...they are easy to find and if you don't believe it by now...nothing would help.
Romo took the heat for the team. WHILE DOING things. While we didn't "complete our mission"...Romo elevated a lot of players in his attempts. At least STRIVING to be that winning leader by EFFORT and to great extent...results.
Does Dak even do that?
The answer is of course ...no.
Romo has superior arm talent to Dak. He's a more natural thrower and gun slinger. He would absolutely throw it up there to CeeDee Lamb and Lamb would love it.
But Romo was a bad decision maker in big games - just like Dak. And when he made those bad decisions - he publicly pouted and sulked. He was always looking inside of himself for answers and that's why the locker room EASILY fractured under his watch and why Dak easily took over the locker room and the job. Romo even LAMELY tried to invite the entire team over to his lavish new mansion for team activities that he rarely participated in before or led. But it was too little, too late. By the time he learned he had to lead and not sulk, the team had moved on.
Romo had some advantages over Dak for sure, but being a leader of men is NOT one of them.
