Yes our QB is a great leader, but what else?

I knew Romo would be brought in to this....as usual.

"Dak sucks!"
"Oh yeah...well ROMO SUCKS MORE!"

Romo made average receivers look really good. Romo would put the team on his back...and often did succeed only to have to do it time and time again. The odds are eventually a failure happens. ROmo has very good 4th gtq numbers and come from behind wins. I'm not going to post them yet AGAIN...they are easy to find and if you don't believe it by now...nothing would help.

Romo took the heat for the team. WHILE DOING things. While we didn't "complete our mission"...Romo elevated a lot of players in his attempts. At least STRIVING to be that winning leader by EFFORT and to great extent...results.

Does Dak even do that?

The answer is of course ...no.
Romo was on a team with 12 other pro bowlers. He had a HOF tight end (Witten). He had 2 top 5 WRs in their primes - Dez Bryant/Terrell Owens. I won't count Miles Austin because we agree...that was as much Romo as it was him.

Romo has superior arm talent to Dak. He's a more natural thrower and gun slinger. He would absolutely throw it up there to CeeDee Lamb and Lamb would love it.

But Romo was a bad decision maker in big games - just like Dak. And when he made those bad decisions - he publicly pouted and sulked. He was always looking inside of himself for answers and that's why the locker room EASILY fractured under his watch and why Dak easily took over the locker room and the job. Romo even LAMELY tried to invite the entire team over to his lavish new mansion for team activities that he rarely participated in before or led. But it was too little, too late. By the time he learned he had to lead and not sulk, the team had moved on.

Romo had some advantages over Dak for sure, but being a leader of men is NOT one of them.

I didn't claim Romo was a leader of men...but I appreciate that huge rant about it.

Well at least TR didn’t smile after interceptions. No sure where the great leader came from, his demeanor on the sidelines sure does throw cold water on that. It’s PR with Dak.

I disagree that he's a great leader.
It's kind of hard to be a leader of men when you make like 3x as much as your soldiers and have a track record of doing bad things in moments you shouldn't. Patton carried around Platinum pistols but he backed up his leadership with dominating performances in every instance.

Since when has he been a great leader? A great leader wouldn't sit on the sideline sulking every game when things go bad. A good leader wouldn't let his teammates down consistently.

"Romo put the team on his back..."

You obviously don't know what that means. Sure anyone who is a QB can do it for one game...you made it seem like he did it game after game...without being a leader of men?

What’s puzzling is I don’t think Dak is dumb. Listening to him speak he seems to be somewhat intelligent which is why I can’t understand why he has such a low football IQ and is horrible at dissecting defenses.

Maybe it was the injury, maybe it all just spooked him and he knows that if he goes out again like that he’s not getting his job back. Maybe it was the right hook he took on spring break in college, who knows at this point.

Here are some of the greatest leaders in history:
  • Napoleon Bonaparte
  • George Washington
  • Abraham Lincoln
  • Salahuddin
  • Che Guevara
  • Julius Caesar
  • Alexander, The Great
  • Dak Prescott
  • Nelson Mandela
  • Mahatma Gandhi
  • Prophet Muhammad
Agree, I rank him as noted above. :muttley:
Napoleon as a military Commander was considered by some as a great leader and he had a pretty good batting average until he choked in the big game. Against Russia, he failed when it really counted. He tried a comeback and that failed to.

Romo took the risks....why do I say that you ask?

Because people like you call him some grand king choker. You dont; do that if you don;t try.

So I may have some double speak going, if you say so. BUT...so do you.

I'm anti-Dak. And yet, that doesn't mean I have over-index on criticism. Dak is PLENTY SMART. The notion that he didn't understand how to read defenses but went 13-2 as a rookie (won't count last game that didn't matter) is just preposterous.

Are you good at your job? How smart would you be if that suddenly asked you to do "more"? You'd see how quickly everyone who thought you were smart starts to question your intelligence. Dak is just asked to do MORE and he doesn't have the NFL arm and anticipation to do it. But he has a photographic memory and learned our entire offense AS A ROOKIE.

Anyone who knows football would not say EIGHT YEARS LATER ...."He can't read defenses...". People who do that have OTHER AGENDAS...

I mean, was Romo "dumb"? Or was he just asked to do more than his skillset allowed?
