One of the reasons that attracted Dak to the Cowboys as a college player was his leadership abilities. It's evident in his years of being a cowboy that he's a great leader, he can galvanize the troops, and say the right things. With that said, there's more to being a leader than just these things. A leader on the football field also needs to be a winner for you as well. We all know what this team needs, we've been lacking it for 20+ seasons. This is the Dallas Cowboys, America's team, when you're the QB of the Dallas Cowboys, so many great things can take off for you monetarily. In the end, none of the fortune and fame can get you to play better if you're regressing, and no one is telling you about yourself. Please give your thoughts, it's good to be a leader, but we need wins!
A “great leader” that is unable to inspire his teammates

He’s really good at throwing bad passes! :muttley:
In practice when he is wearing a red jersey and no defender can come within 10 yards of him.

Maybe the Cowboys can change their jersey colors to red so the opposing defenses don’t try to sack Dak!

Funny you mention this now, some of us were harping on this exact thing during training camp. The Dakstans kept telling everyone how great Dak had been looking in practice. And then we got called trolls or other unpleasant names when we pointed out the defenses in practice weren't allowed to rush or hit him. Now they're blaming the o'line. Or is it the defense for not giving them short fields every possession?

Did they renegotiate? Cap hit if he is cut in March is around 30 mil.
Yeah but you still got account for the other 30 million if you cut him. It’s still a total of 60 million either way.

This "great leader" theme is ridiculous and unearned.

He's no moreso than any other quarterback. It's just something to say because he's a nice guy with a good attitude who can't really play the position.
Calling Dak a great leader is like calling Jack the Ripper a humanitarian...... :muttley:

The sooner they rip the bandage off the sooner they will get over the 60 million. Extending Dak will hurt the team far more than eating 60 million dead money over the next couple of years.

Not w/ the original contract. Unless they renegotiated, we save 34 mill by cutting him in March.

Great leaders lead by example and lift their team to victory. Dak does neither. He is not a leader. Staubach was a leader. Aikman was a leader.

I think Dak did take some type of kicker that made the cap hit lower for the last couple seasons.

A good leader would of sign a contract with core players in mind when you yourself is trash.

A good leader would have not made a statement about nobody's wife is making as much money as his (Tom Brady). Making it seem like he would have been struggling with $25-30M/yr. That's a POS leader and a slap to the face remark for the working class imo.

The Dak haters are the so called fans who wait for Dak to have a bad game and then they blame him for the past 28 years. Am I talking about you?
I dunno...are you?

You'd think you would know who you are talking to.

So you are fighting for your LIFE...at people who "WAIT" for dak to have a bad game.

Wow no wonder the Earth is doomed.

I think I used to assume he was a good leader because it's been repeated so often..

But is he? Is he actually a good leader?

He has a hard work ethic, sure. He's likeable, sure.

However, he doesn't elevate anyone. He doesn't seem to inspire anyone. He's lost his receivers.. more than once.

Does a bus driver lead you to your destination or simply take you there?
You make a great point. What IS...a true "leader".

It would seem we have different definitions of it. Mostly due to our biased agenda.

I say a leader LEADS you to the mission....or at least dies trying. Like Romo. The man got his arse kicked hard for it.

A fair question.. in football, I'd go with..is grace under fire, finds ways to win when it matters most, leads by example.

He is not a great leader.

This is just something said about him because he has no ability or skills that make him great.

It's like calling someone a "gym rat" or "good locker room guy".

The "good leader" stuff is another narrative that needs to go away with this bum.
Did Dak start this Great Leader mirage??
