Yet Another Uniform Thread

Another fan of the Giant's colors I see. We will never use dark blue like that because of our division opponents.

Think you've got it backwards- the royal blue is the one closer to the Giants...

and one of the main reasons it should be changed.

They do use the lighter color but that is as light as it goes. They go darker for example:

The darker navy blue is a Giants thing. They copied us not the other way around.

Count me in with the folks preferring the current shark pants.

They're charming, and we've only been doing it the last several decades.

Thankfully, Jerry won't be changing anything...

That pic is from like 1980. Don't think they use that helmet much anymore. Those jerseys, socks, etc. are very much royal blue.

Again they copied us and not the other way around. We would be going to the Giants old colors. I will pass.

It is not seafoam green. Who made that up? It is silver green. That is the official color as stated every year in the team's media guide. And yes it is unique because no other team has it in any sport. Then again, silver blue is also unique and a better match to the rest of the uniform. Anything is better than dull grey with white jerseys.

Nobody is claiming that "seafoam green" is the official name of the color of the pants.

But it is 100% accurate as a description of that color. I would go further and argue that, as a description of the pants color, "seafoam green" is in fact more accurate than the official name of "silver-green" in the media guide. I don't expect everyone to agree, but color, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

And to many fans, those pants are d@mn ugly!

These images are a part of ongoing project that have been working on for years now.

Like the first image. Prefer the current dark blues with sleeve star over your version. Throwbacks with silver helmet and pants are just wrong, gotta have the white helmets. And not a fan of the blue pants, silver green any day over those.

Kudos for the project tho.

Obviously that guy has a negative opinion on the Dallas Cowboys color scheme. I do however like the fact that the Dallas Cowboys have the the widest variety in colors in their color scheme in the NFL but yet still subtly simple on the surface. That is not an easy feet at all.

Im fond of the seafoam green pants or silver-green. It's very staple to me. It's not straight forward at all. It's a very nuanced feel to silver rather than it just being flat silver or metallic. It's unique. No one does it. But i can see how its not favorable to some folks because green is not a color of the Dallas Cowboys.

What I want to know was how that choice in flavor of silver came about in the 80s. What was the conversation like when that was being discussed as an option and why they went with it. Does anyone know?

Thanks, and but just to be clear.

The Throwback version is the 90's Double Star, which used Silver Helmets.
The league no longer allows multiple helmets. That eliminates the use of the White throwback helmet.
The blue pants are just a "concept only" conversation starter. No way I would like to see that happen for real.

As for alternates, you can bet that there will be some sort of third jersey coming. There is money to be made.
