You all realize we only beat Chicago right?

You do realize that the Cowboys were/are just as banged up as the Bears right?. Add the suspensions and the Cowboys last night were missing a minimum of 7 starters. QB, RT, RG (most of game), MLB, DE, DE, CB

I was telling my wife this last night, when the announcers kept bringing up the Bears injuries. We are missing key players too.

Happy with the win. I thought we looked solid on offense. I was unhappy that TWill gave a team that had no spark of life whatsoever a glimmer of hope. I think the defense should have responded better on that turnover as well. Those things put a damper on my evening. Chicage seemed to have no life at all and that made it hard to get excited about too.

Something still has to be said of beating Chicago like they were supposed to. The stage was set for Dallas to jump on them and jump hard, and that's what they did. The team and, surprisingly, coaching deserves credit for that.

Williams is another story though. Fumbles drive me insane.

I am proud of this teams performance yesterday but I don't think most of you realize how bad Chicago is. With the injuries they have they'll be competing with Clevland for the #1 pick. I'm usually not the debbie downer guy and I am proud of how this team performed but I expected this team to win yesterday. I mean if the game was close yesterday then I'd really be worried. Some of the posts I'm reading on here are the same as when we beat Seatle back in 2014. The real test for this team will be weeks 5 and 6 when we play Cincinnati and Green Bay but until then hold back on the Super Bowl runs and Dak over Romo conversations.

Just as you do realize the injuries or players out for us (for whatever reason). Starters out...Romo, TSmith, OScandrick, Collins (left game early), DLawrence, RGregory, RMcClain (yes he was our starting MLB coming into season). 7 starters right there. Other players, non starters missing....DE Tapper, LB Nzeocha (showed progress in camp). 9 total players. So WE ALSO had players injured or out, not just Chicago.

The Bears are terrible but the Cowboys aren't a great team either right now so it was a good win (still a rookie QB/RB and terrible defense). I don't have high expectations with this team anyway so a 2-TD win is about right. If we were the Patriots then of course you'd expect to beat the Bears by 30 but we're not.

We beat Chicago's B team. Cutler was out, Jeffery was hurt, and about half of the defense missed the game. That said, we looked good and there is room for optimism. I think the SB talk is more about the NFC than the Cowboys. Plug Romo, Lawrence, McClain, and Gregory in the lineups and I wouldn't call it crazy to suggest we've got a shot. CAR and AZ haven't looked very good, and they projected to be the two biggest obstacles. That said, I wouldn't be surprised by us going 8-8 and missing the playoffs either.

And Dez Bryant played with a knee sprain.

Oh here we go. So it's stupid to enjoy the win because the Bears suck. Why are there so many fans who want to find negativity in every win? We all know this team isn't great defensively but they scrap and fight. Aaron Rodgers finally showed up yesterday, But Green Bay hasn't really impressed me at all. We know it's going to be hard for the Cowboys to win at Lambeau Field but I give them a pretty decent shot of winning. Cowboys love playing on the road anyway and is Cincinnati that much better then the Cowboys? I like our chances. Maybe I'm being a huge homer but I like watching the Cowboys win games

Exactly right.

If the only "joy" you get from sports is when your team wins a "big" game against a "top" competitor then why bother following sports?

I obviously choose the wrong title. If you read my other posts on this forum you see that I'm not negative at all when we win. I'm happy for the win and I'm happy that this season looks promising especially after last year. I'm extremely happy we've found our future with Dak. All I was trying to say was the real tests come later on in the season and not against the Chicago Bears.

I just don't get this longing for Romo who represents a decade of futility, who is long on the tooth, fragile and in reality stands a bigger chance of being named LSU's new coach than taking this team to the playoffs.
It simply won't happen.
With Dak, the bare minimum is that, unlike Romo, he can take a hit. That is basic to a QB.
Also, youth is basic.
Dak will stumble, as did Romo. But I am enjoying the ride for now.
Speaking of now, the future is now, not in replaying on our VCRs Romo's 2 career playoff wins in a decade of frustrating Decembers.
We argue months over Romos career and the roster and coaching he had around him. I still have in trust in Romo and I'm excited we've found our future in Dak not many teams can be that fortunate. But I still think Romo is the better QB today and this has a better shot to win Romo than with Dak. Now that may change as Dak adjusts even more to NFL defenses but the point is I trust Romo more to win me a game against one of the best teams in the league than I do with Dak currently.

I know I'm just repeating myself now but never did I say I didn't enjoy the win or tell anyone not to. I was happy for last nights win. It was the first time we've won a game that in that fashion since probably the colts game in 2014 so it was great not having my heart pounding out of my chest for 3 hours straight.

My post obviously negative and I should of made it clear that I am happy with the win but my point is beating Chicago isn't the same as beating Seattle.
The good news is you don't play for this team. The younger guys are building confidence and I guarantee you they don't care if they beat Chicago or Seattle. A win is a win especially in the NFL. The loser mentality on this board is ridiculous. One can only imagine a group of players saying "it's only Chicago guys."

The NFL is a beast man. I'm happy with any win I can get. Stack them up.

Jefferey was hurt? Had me fooled. Nice try though. We had no Tyron, no Scandrick, no DLaw. But pathetic Cutler, and poor ole hobbled Alshon was hurt. Cry me a river!

I sometimes wonder how I've ever supported the Cowboys for decades without strangers on the internet pointing out how good the opponent was or was not, whether there are better or worse opponents ahead on the schedule, and how happy (or not) I should be about seeing my favorite team play well and win a game.

Dallas Cowboys Weekly when I was a kid. Only problem was that in Virginia it usually came the day after the following Sundays game!
