You don't build a team through free agency!

Tyron is good for about 4 games.
Im actually against resigning him. Him not missing significant time last year was an anomaly. I don’t think they’ll get that lucky 2 years in a row. Time to let Tyron ride off into the sunset.

This is what we've been accustomed to hearing, and we end up seeing the results of these comments we're being fed every off season. You can't build a team through FA, but you CAN acquire talent if you get the right guys that can elevate a team such as this team.

We have to get over the past, and focus on the present. Look around the league and see what happens when you make sound moves! Of course not every move will get you to the Superbowl, but at least try!! Please give your thoughts
Correct. Which is why taking Schooner in the 2nd was such a monumental mistake. We took a luxury pick in the 2nd w/ glaring holes at LB and DT. That is the problem w/ having a non-football guy as a GM. He wasn't able to assess our areas of need.

It’s because for whatever reason this coaching staff didn’t trust ferg. LB may not have been as bad if overshown didn’t get hurt but 2nd rounder was a mistake for sure

Overshown is just such a tweener and has had injury issues previously. I like him as a player, but not sure he's starter quality.

We wanted to be better at RUN blocking lol, you want that get a TE in the 6th to do that for you. Why waste premium picks for someone like this, horrible move!!!

Have to use all of the tools at their disposal. Free Agency/Draft/Trade deadline IN that order. They use one of the 3 and wonder why they cone up short every year.
Lol too funny lol

First and foremost you have to have a front office who actually cares about winning. The current one doesn't. Their Forbes listing is more important.

You will never win championships if your first priority is to be the leader in a popularity contest.
So true!!

That’s the type of position you could fill in free agency. Solid run blocking vet who will catch minimum passes. Spending a 2nd when you have huge needs all over is comical. Now we can do nothing but hope for the best.

I believe as fans, we are believing in Jerry's statement "all in" and what it means. Jerry is a master at saying things that we believe is one thing and it is entirely a different "all in" to him. Is it really "all in" as it concerns to free agency and signing some very good FAs or is it something entirely different.

We are about to see what "all in" means in a couple of weeks and right now and until I see something happen in the first week of free agency, Jerry's "all in" isn't what any of us believed it would be.

Building a championship team rests on a tripod. Draft/FA/Trades
This team will do trades; is pretty good at the draft; but is lousy as regards FA's that make a big difference; we overpay our own and underpay to get quality outside
You look at the last 10-15 years of SB winners and every single one of them had at least ONE high priced FA that they brought in.

you look at his career as a whole and the years he missed a significant number of games are the outliers.
What?

A4Zcvvw.jpeg

In the last 5 years he has missed:

2023 4
2022 12
2021 5
2020 14
2019 3

He is getting older, and even though he's only 33, he has a lot of wear and tear. He hasn't played a full season in nearly a decade. Assuming that the LT position is locked up if he gets signed is a fool's errand.

I 100% agree. few simple reasons. good FAs never hit the market, they get tagged or resigned. when they hit the market, they are either old, often injured, or locker room problem. and they all cost a lot of money, since FAs often want too much and sometimes they are let go because of that. so building a team through FA, with expensive FAs, and then complaining about giving Dak or another player a large contract is contradictory.

you have to be good in drafting. lucky teams hit on QB and get a window to ride that good/elite QB to some success (quite a few don't). and you fill in gaps that you need with a FA here and there and a few mid level FAs.

what is going to really bit us is missing on all draft picks in 2023. it takes a couple of years to recover. so far that's what 2023 looks like. and not only that, we have 5 picks in 2024, three in the 1st and two in the 7th. so tough to replenish so many needs.

Out of 13 seasons, he played 13 games or more 10 times.
Only two seasons did he hardly play at all
so despite your attempt at semantics, yes the seasons where he missed a lot of games were outliers

Indeed you don't but you do need to cut bait at a position that hasn't worked for the last 8 years, and not extend it for another 8

No way you can get 53 players from free agency, but you can definitely fill a hole and or add a stud DT.

They will dumpster dive yet again, sign their own and rely on cheap draft picks to help.
