Kids today are spoiled. All we had (and I know you can vouch for this) were the backs of cereal boxes. "Help the elf get through the Maze" and/or "Connect the dots to see Davy Crockett." It was all pretty bad until "Pong" came along.

Ranks up there with waiting forever for the next Dallas Cowboys Weekly magazine to show up in my mail box.

At least the younger generation has YouTube and can visit the glory days anytime they want.

I would think that would make them more depressed.

I'm 61 and have been a fan since 1961, so I have seen it all. Like some of the others have said hang in there. My only hope is that Jerry has to sell the team for some reason.

23 here. Like many here, too young to appreciate the glory years but I do slightly remember sitting in the freezing cold at Texas Stadium when we beat the Eagles in the playoffs en route to Super Bowl 30.

Happy new year!

I'm 31 and I guess I got in this world just in time.

I remember all three Super Bowls in the 90's and it was like Christmas all three times for me.

At the same time, I remember the night we beat Washington before we got good for the only win we had that 1-15 season. I don't really remember the actual game, but can remember parts of the night and my dad after we won. I can remember going to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium to watch us play the Falcons. Aikman and Irvin were young, just cuttin' their teeth. They hooked up alot that day it seems like. We got up 20-0 and then ended up losing 21-20. The ride home was rough man.

Anyway, I feel for all that didn't get to experience any Glory with our Cowboys. We were a different animal back then, thanks to Jimmy.

20 consecutive winning seasons.

Think about that! There are some on here who rail about us not deserving anything from this football team. And when we are disappointed with consecutive 8-8 records, we should be happy. Those 20 years of consecutive winning seasons meant the playoffs, we knew at the beginning of the season that a winning season and a chance of playoffs, and Super Bowl, we possible. Yet some here tell us that we should be happy with 1 playoff win in 20 years.

It just hurts to see a once great franchise reduced to this.

A question for those of you too young to remember any of the glory years: what made you become Cowboy fans? Is it because you live in Dallas? If not, what pulled you in?

My father is a long time fan. He brainwashed me. You know eat your veggies. Clean your room. Do your homework. Like the Cowboys.

I'm 25 and depressed. Discuss.

I don't see what the New Cowboys have to offer younger fans to be quite honest.
I fell in love with their class and commitment to being a quality team and org. in the 1970s
We have none of that now , sad to say.
We are the definition of a dysfuntional operation if there ever was one.

I loved that, .. sometimes I wouldn't get it until the next Saturday. Sit and read every word from cover to cover, first page to the last.

In the early days, because our local paper did not run on Monday, I may not know if Dallas even won or not until Tuesday mornings paper.

I'm 26...really started following the Cowboys seriously during the 2002 season...

Let's relive some of those oh so awesome moments
- Dallas loses to Houston in the Texans first game ever as a franchise
- Dallas goes 10-6 under the direction of Bill Parcells and loses to the Panthers in the playoffs; a team they beat earlier in the season
- Quincy Carter is cut out of the blue, despite being the QB for the Cowboys first winning season since 1998
- Dallas passes on Steven Jackson and drafts Julius Jones
- Mark Brunell throws two bombs to Santana Moss in the final 3 minutes to win 14-13
- In 2005, Dallas starts 7-3 only to lose 4 of their last 6 games and misses the playoffs
- Tony Romo takes over for Drew Bledsoe and brings the Cowboys to the playoffs for the first time since 2003...and then...yeah...
- Dallas steamrolls through the regular season to a 13-3 record only to get knocked out of the playoffs by a team they beat twice earlier in the season
- In 2008, Romo throws a pick six late in a crucial game against the Steelers
- At the very last game in Texas Stadium, McClain and McGahee put the dagger in the Cowboys as they run for 82 yard and 77 yard TDs, respectively
- The following week, in a win or go home game... 44-6
- Romo finally wins his first playoff game and then the team proceeds to get killed by Favre and the Vikings
- Off the heels of a successful season, Dallas promptly starts their season 1-7
- In 2011, Dallas starts off wonderfully with a pick six to Darrelle Revis sealing the game for the Jets
- The Cowboys, 7-4, go on to lose the next 4 games out of 5, including a win or go home game against the Giants
- RG3 embarrasses the Cowboys on Thanksgiving
- Dez Bryant extends his finger just a little too far...
- Romo throws a crucial INT in a win or go home game against Washington
- Dallas puts on one of the most exciting games in history against Denver, and with a chance to prove everyone wrong, Romo proves everyone right.
- Dallas gives up 329 yards to Megatron and allows the Lions to win the game with under a minute left
- Dallas allows an NFL HISTORY record by letting the Saints convert 40 first downs
- Dallas allows the biggest comeback in their history by letting the Packers come back and win after Romo throws 2 crucial interceptions
- With chance to go to the playoffs once again, Kyle Orton breaks our hearts by throwing an INT on the final, potential game winning drive

I tried that with my two sons....it didn't work. :(

It's not your fault, you can blame Jerry, .. it didn't work because we are not winning. No kid wants to cheer for a loser, and hear about it at school all week.

My oldest son was born in 1977, and my youngest in 1983. Both grew up Cowboy fans. But by the time the early 90's rolled around, I had nearly lost them to Elway and the Broncos, and Montana and the 9ers.

But once we started winning Super Bowls, they were hooked forever and are still Cowboy fans at 36 and 30.

If Jerry had half a brain at all, he would realize that he is losing a whole generation of fans right now.

You forgot losing the first game in Cowboys Stadium, and blowing a 27-3 lead to Detroit.

Embarassing.
