NFL guys shuold care less whether or not Vince Young can hit a hasmark. When was the last time in a game that it mattered whether a QB could throw accurately into the dirt?

Vince Young is going to be an exciting and dynamic player and he has the size and speed to adjust to and make an impact in the NFL. Would you rather judge Troy Aikman by his showing in the NFL QB Challenge or the NFL Playoffs? Sheesh.

I would expect any QB in a situation where you’re not under a pass rush to be able to throw the ball fairly accurately. It does not get easier than that.

Up to a point. When he plays aginst Dallas I hope the flaws show up big time. LOL

I'll still pull for him. I'll just hope that the rest of the team inexplicably falls ill to bad chinese food.

I am neither a Young hater or Lover. As a passer, in the limited times I have seen him play, he has not impressed me.

However he has seemed to improve every year so it would seem he is able to learn, process and get better.

For the record even though it may not be in his best interest to go to some of these events...I actually like the idea of him going.

I hate when agents tell a player not to play in this, or workout in that because it will hurt his stock.

I would rather see a player go and participate so people can make their judgements on him.

At least it seems he is not hiding.

I love the home town boys as well as Texas college players in general but my main loyalty on Sunday is strictly for the Cowboys and any player who faces them I want to see that players having a hard time.

I guess my Burnt Orange is showing. I can't go against my Horns. I'll turn in my Dallas Cowboys Weekly subscription and my Jerry Jones decoder ring at the door.

No, no Dooms. For better or worse on that deal. Once a Horn, always a Horn. I think thats in the Preamble or something.

That was a stupid article. I don't think any team is going to decide to choose a player or not choose a player based on their performance at some made for television event. If there is a team that makes their decisions based on those types of things, then they are probably a bad orginization. It is not like Vince Young's strengths and weaknesses aren't know already. Watch a couple of games, it is easy to see. It will be much easier to see if he goes to the combine and has a pro-day. I give Young good marks for attending this kind of event. Not for his performance at the event, but just attending. Says something about him as a person and that seems to matter to some teams.

Your right they won't base it on that alone they won't base it on the combines alone or the pro day visit at the players college but they will base them on everything. Anytime a player goes through any work out who is going to be in the draft scouts will be there and will be watching what that players and how he performs the task he is doing.

Potential top 10 picks should avoid these type of things. Scouts check everything they can find on players these days and probably know if they wipe with their right hand or left.

Why do you think most of the top guys skip the Sr. Bowl, won't work out at the combine..........

A drop of just two slots can cost a player millions of dollars.

The article is off base.

VY was actually quite good at the event and shined by miles over others when asked to do anything on the move.

Something he may not has much of a chance to showcase at the Combine.

He was able to hit the two targets in the obstacle course and no other QB hit even one. This "reporter" obviously only watched the first few minutes of the show where he was just average in the accuracy portion that required a traditional drop and hitting moving targets.

Who has dropped because of this all-star skills contest?

No potential draftees that I know of as yet, but these are a relatively new phenomena.

If you'd like to see someone who lost millions of dollars at one of these made-for-tv events, look no further than Robert Edwards. He had a very promising career derailed by a serious injury at the rookie flag football event a few years ago.

I think the writer is only questioning why. Young has nothing to gain by being involved with it. Guys like Drew Olson,Brodie Croyle and Charlie Whitehurst have to do whatever they can to try and impress people around the NFL to improve their draft status. Young has been predicted to go anywheres from the overall #1 to the 5th pick in this draft so why get involved with it. I take it you watched it? Was Matt Lienhart out there?

Thank you for getting it right. I see so many mediots who say that Edwards was hurt while playing beach volleyball when in fact it was a rookie flag football game in the sand where he exploded his knee.

I was beginning to doubt my memory there for a while.

He was playing football though.

VY was running glorified training drills.
These guys are all insured out the wazoo anyway.
