This guy is from my neck of the woods. Good guy that got screwed over by the business. He named his band after a shrimping boat on South Padre Island. He makes a good living playing cruise ships.
One hit wonder?Comfortably Numb
Golden Earring also had Twilight Zone, which may have been an even bigger hit. Some that pop into my head that I don’t think anyone has mentioned ...
Play that Funky Music - Wild Cherry
Smoking in the Boys Room - Brownsville Station
Brandy - Looking Glass
Stuck in the Middle With You - Stealer’s Wheel
Radar Love - Golden Earring
Then there have been a lot of one hit wonders with what I’ll call “gimmick” songs - songs, that were just catcy (sometimes annoying) and/or that took advantage of trends at a point in time:
King Tut -Steve Martin
The Hustle - ?
Convoy - CW McCall
I’m too Sexy - ?
Video Killed the Radio Star - ?
Hey Mickey - Toni Basil
Pop Muzic - ?
The Macarena - ?
Wrong thread, you need to transfer this to the Pink Floyd thread and bring whatever you put over there over here. I'll wait.Comfortably Numb
I hit it. Can't father any more children but I hit it.It’s a legit tune. I don’t know anybody that can hear that song and not sing along and try to hit that high note at least once (nobody can hit that note)

Biggie might have the winner because that one hit wonder has been in so many films. The first time I heard it, I was hooked. Never understood why he didn't follow that up with something good because that song was hot. When I die and they lay me to rest
Gonna go to the place that's the best
When I lay me down to die
Goin' up to the spirit in the sky
No Tubthumpin’ yet? Good.
Here’s an obscure one that I always liked and you almost never hear anymore:
Almost forgot this one.

LOL - You've just opened the door to William Shatner's Rocket Man.
