Youtube announces Sunday Ticket pricing

I'm shocked they are not offering subscribers a better discount .........hell, why not provide it free for any new subscribers and half price for current ones.

And they just increased their monthly cost from $65 to $72 a month : /

My experience with streaming baseball games has been a bad one.

I hope they don’t have the same problems. Gonna be frustrating as can be if so.

Freezing screens, missing plays, greyness…
That’s your internet connection speed probably.

Omitted from the press release is any reference to the ability to purchase out-of-market games for one team at a time, one week at a time, or one game at a time. Instead, you apparently will still have to buy it all in order to have any of it, which seems to be an antitrust violation hiding in plain sight.
That sucks. No better way to put it. Big time disappointment.

I’m a bit shocked at the reactions to the pricing….they are paying $2 billion per season for Sunday ticket. How will they get that back? by hitting the fans up for a significant some.

Of course I’d love it to be free or significantly cheaper but those that thought it would be are dreaming imo
I get your point, but at the same time it costs them nothing to deliver Sunday ticket to a larger audience. With that said YT could have went in two directions….premium pricing for a smaller audience or lower pricing in an attempt to get more subscribers with at least having a larger discount for YTTV customers.

I was hoping for the second option and thought that may be the way to go as it could be a really good tool to get more people to sign up not just for Sunday ticket but YTTV.

I’m sure YT has a ton of data to show why that would have been the wrong move to make, but it still feels like the smarter route to go from my perspective.

I don't think $250 is that bad tbh.

$200 would have been perfect.

I'll definitely try it out this first year.

They aren't. You don't need special equipment. That's pretty huge
And more importantly, your bill is actually the same amount each month. Unlike DTV where my bill would change even though I had made no additional purchases and I'd have to be on the phone for hours and still get some BS answer with promises it would be credited back and then on the phone again because it wasn't (or at least not what we had agreed upon).

Same old stale pricing model as the previous Sunday Ticket. I had hopes they would start to get more creative like game by game options, monthly options, or team options. Something like game by game options would get me to buy Cowboys games that I cannot normally get. So instead of getting a hundred bucks out of me, they get nothing and I still watch the games through other means.

After some quick math, my monthly bill for internet and TV should go from $230 a month to about $150 for faster internet and YouTube TV. A monthly savings of roughly $80. I can pay for Sunday Ticket with just three months of that savings and I’ll still be ahead about $700 for the year.

YouTube tripping!

But I still may consider it. I'm going to wait until the schedule comes out.

Sunday ticket only allowed me to see about 2 or 3 games last year, all the other
Cowboy games were on regular cable/TV.

Yep. I only had one wired option for years and when I unbundled some stuff they stuck it to me on the ISP. Fortunately we got another (much better speed) option last summer & I switched the ISP and went to YTTV.

The reality is that they know they have the crown jewel of sports tv. They’ll charge this amount and still significantly get YTV into way more homes.

The nfl moves the needle. That’s why they paid 2 billion for a season. It’s why they charge these prices for Sunday ticket. Would be nice to be more flexible but in this day and age it’s just not happening

60 or 70. Lost track. My wife pays all the bills and has millions in some account I don't know about. Haven't seen a check or paycheck in 25 years. Who knows what she is doing? Lol.
Loooooooooool sorry to hear this lol

Perhaps they still plan on spur of the moment purchases. Can't announce those now or people might just wait. Let things get to desperation first then pump their wallets.
yeah, that is probably exactly the game they are playing. I will probably get the subscription the first year just to know I'm covered and see how they do the on demand purchases. Might go that way in the future.
