Youtube announces Sunday Ticket pricing

What sucks is that sometimes there are bandwidth issues that cause the picture on your 4k TV to be awful. Some of the amazon games were worse than my old picture tube before cable. Best way to watch the NFL is still Direct TV.

The reality is that they know they have the crown jewel of sports tv. They’ll charge this amount and still significantly get YTV into way more homes.

The nfl moves the needle. That’s why they paid 2 billion for a season. It’s why they charge these prices for Sunday ticket. Would be nice to be more flexible but in this day and age it’s just not happening
Agree completely. I think for YouTube is a win either way. For subscription model businesses, especially with auto renewing payments I tend to see more success with lower prices and more subscribers. That said though I’ve never worked with a company even close to the size of YouTube and am sure they are looking at it from a different viewpoint and have a ton of data to support their pricing.

It’s been years since I’ve used direct tv but when I did was the only time I’ve really had consistent issues….typically weather related. Agree with you on Amazon, although the issues I had with them seemed to get better as the season went on. I haven’t had a single quality issue with YouTube tv since I switched about a year ago. Big advocate for YTTV except for the fact they lack local sports options for several markets.

I've had direct tv for 15 years and I get the occasional issue during a heavy storm. The picture quality is better than any tv app. YouTube is going to have growing pains and its certainly not any cheaper.

Youtube TV has 3 month promo for $63 and then it increases to $73.

naw i'm good. I'm in VA and most cowboy games are on tv in my area, and the 1-2 that aren't i can either stream or watch on redzone. guess this would be a good deal if i was a browns fan lol

'Cause business and stuff, lol. I'm not shocked. You test people's football addiction and let demand dictate what you do next.
I guess but this gives me ZERO incentives to subscribe to YouTube TV.

BTW.......I didn't have Direct TV only missed 2-3 games ( actually went to a bar )

don’t live in Texas bust still typically get 12 or so cowboys games, and have no problem keeping my nearly $400 and just streaming the handful of games I won’t get.
I'm sure you are speaking the same language as millions of other fans

The MLB package is like $100 for the year…lol
Yes....but you don't get to see games in real time if your teams home network is carrying it...I almost made a BIG mistake and signed up last year.

So if you want the $249 price, you need to sign up a s YT subscriber and pay $80 a month, so $960 a year (yes less than DTV).
So they still get you one way or the other.

Way too much otherwise. I am looking at switching from DTV satellite, but not sure if I want DTV Stream, YT, or Hulu.
$249 is not a bad price, but it is not enough to get me to switch. I get all the Dallas games, but I do like the options of other games when Dallas is not on.

I don't think they will get too many to switch.....greed...that is all it is....But hey, it is what hey can do to make $$$, bottom line...
I'm not sure you have to sign a year contract though. Can do month to month. Still not ideal, but can cancel the it after football

I'll take your word for it on DirectTV, it's been about 5 years since I used them which is a loooong time for a service to improve, and my issues could always be related to my location too. If ATT had better internet option for my location I may be open to trying them again as their TV/internet bundle pricing isn't horrible at all.

Don't sleep on YTTV though. Unless you're getting a great discount for being a longtime customer it's worth at least trying out the trial. I used them a couple years back on a free trial and had some issues. Tried again about a year ago and loved it. Everything from the picture quality to the responsiveness and layout of the menu screens feels ahead of other streaming services. Of course it all really only matters if you're interested in keeping Sunday Ticket at the discounted price. If not no reason to fix what isnt broken.

Not everyone is set up to do so, but if either your router or smart TV can run a VPN it's a pretty easy work around for an extra $6 a month.

Yeah I thought about giving it a try. Even looked into doing it last year. If just myself I would. But have other people in the house to consider as well.
But I need to decide soon, as my $50 per month off DTV runs out this month, unless I can talk them into continuing that reduction.

I need to do a channel comparison like I did before, between DTV Stream, YTTV Hulu, as I pretty much eliminated others, like Sling TV, Fubo. But will take a look at them as well.
Just tired of DTV's higher prices.

If you have a VPN sign up for the nfl game pass Europe package which includes red zone. Paid 150 GBP which is about $180.

Everyone hates cable companies ect..
Let's just all stream everything.. that will be cheaper.... Sure.
Yeah I remember on a couple other forums I posted on years ago (maybe 2017 era) I was calling out the whole cutting the cord narrative that was getting thrown around.

Everyone was like screw the cable companies streaming is cheaper. I posted it was B.S, the networks were going to take a temporary profit loss to gain entry into the market but once it grew prices would increase and they would make all time high profits. You would 100% be paying more money than cable for less channels.

People loved to blame the cable company but in reality, it was the network setting the high prices and always renegotiating. They could get away with it because at the end of the day they knew the average person would just blame the cable company.

It's not easy to con the average person. It's the same group of people who also rant about how they're getting such a deal on their free upgrade phone. It's like no dummy, once your phone is paid off it's supposed to drop to $40-50 a month range for the bill. The phone company is giving you a new phone so they can keep your bill over $100 and just advertising it as "free upgrade".......

I don't get the surprise, and I'm no Google lover but i don't get the YouTube hate either. We all knew the NFL was mandating a certain price so their long-time and high-paying partners FOX and CBS didn't lose viewers. From the number of you posting your satisfaction with watching 5'ish games from a bar to avoid paying the price for ST it looks like the strategy is working.

Far as the single team option, YouTube may not be done announcing stuff, but I think anyone living in reality would at least have settled with the probability that this wasn't going to happen. A lot of you crowed when Apple dropped out of the bidding for this very reason.

The NFL is king of content, hands down, and they aren't gonna change a businest model that's obviously working. They got Google locked into a contract that will pay the League $14B over the next seven years while moving better games to Thursdays and obviously maintaining the right to flex games to Sunday nights and now Mondays.

To me, $15 for an entire day of entertainment seems like a pretty darn good deal. I mean, a movie ticket at Regal Cinemas will set you back $14...for one person. I get that everyone has different priorities and different amounts of disposable income, but for the guarantee that I'll be able to watch all 17 regular season Cowboys games without missing a minute when games run over, ST is worth the price to me.

That’s your internet connection speed probably.
Probably right, and it is bad. Boosters don’t even help.

But yeah, that’s gotta be part of the decision. Miss a few plays in a baseball game, no big deal.

Football not so much.

Those prices are disgusting

and the last time i had sunday ticket i saw 0 cowboys games on there because they were all blacked out because "i lived too close" or it was "an area game" despite the fact im THOUSANDS of miles away from arlington
