After some quick math, my monthly bill for internet and TV should go from $230 a month to about $150 for faster internet and YouTube TV. A monthly savings of roughly $80. I can pay for Sunday Ticket with just three months of that savings and I’ll still be ahead about $700 for the year.
I recently dropped Xfinity cable and switched to YouTube TV. My Xfinity bill (internet plus cable tv) was $284 per month. Lots of fees and equipment charges for multiple tvs in that number. I still have Xfinity, but only for Internet. 800mbps for $107, which includes the modem rental charge of $15. YouTube tv is $73, and gets me most of what I had on cable. There are up charges for premium content, but I don’t do that. Net-net, I saved $100+ per month & doubled my internet speed.

That’s pretty much exactly what I’m looking to do. Thanks for sharing your experience.

To me, $15 for an entire day of entertainment seems like a pretty darn good deal. I mean, a movie ticket at Regal Cinemas will set you back $14...for one person. I get that everyone has different priorities and different amounts of disposable income, but for the guarantee that I'll be able to watch all 17 regular season Cowboys games without missing a minute when games run over, ST is worth the price to me.
Agreed. If you look at it from a weekly perspective, then it's not as bad as it sounds. I live in Dallas area and $15 gets more a bucket of balls and my local driving range or barely gets me an appetizer at a local bar with tax and tip.

I don't need Sunday ticket but if my wife bought it then $15 a week to have friends and family over for 6 hours to watch red zone and the featured game or 2 isn't exactly awful.

and the last time i had sunday ticket i saw 0 cowboys games on there because they were all blacked out because "i lived too close" or it was "an area game" despite the fact im THOUSANDS of miles away from Arlington
Yeah for the cowboys only it's not worth it and never has been. They're too popular of a team so it's not really needed. Like 13 games a year make national broadcast via game of the week, SNF, or thanksgiving.

If Youtube had a per game offering I doubt it would be inexpensive. I could see them charging $20-$40 per game which would make $250 for the year a good deal.
Bingo. You're not going to pay the same price per unit while buying less units, you're going to pay more.

Well holy crap.

And directv had the college student deal for $99 per season.

Everyone hates cable companies ect..
Let's just all stream everything.. that will be cheaper.... Sure

The NFL uses monopolistic non competitive business practices and this is what we get.

Any gamers remember the NFL 2k series that the nfl made EA buy the exclusive rights and the quality went down the toilet.
NFL 2K5 was the best football video game ever made. It was better than Madden and they sold it for half the price.

EA reasoned that instead of using their resources to make a better football game why dont we just buy exclusive rights so that no one else can make a better football game.

Thats why its the same crap game every year. All their money goes into insuring no one else can make an NFL football game to compete with them.

I'm perfectly fine listening to them on the radio....
Me too. I'm old and listened to a lot of games like that when I was younger. It was the only way to follow preseason games back in the day.
Last year I subscribed to NFL+ for 5 dollars a month. That allowed me to follow the games on radio not broadcast on TV in Northern Missouri. Only had to do it for 3 games, or so, and I saved hundreds off of the Direct TV cost. I don't like to stream the game on other sites because I got a computer virus from a site once that was tricky to get rid of.

No thanks .

I’ll need some discounting and or incentives like Direct TV offered.

So they aren't doing individual teams?
They should for those who just want to watch their own team. I guess they feel too many fans would opt for that along with redzone. They want to be able to charge as much as they can. Those are some pretty steep prices.

I currently have Xfinity with cable and internet, and I'm looking to drop it. Does YTTV give you live local stations? I do watch a lot of local programming, so trying to find an alternative to Xfinity that is a tad cheaper.

QUESTION- if you dont have YoutubeTV but buy the sunday ticket, does that mean games shown in your local market will be blacked out?

I’m a bit shocked at the reactions to the pricing….they are paying $2 billion per season for Sunday ticket. How will they get that back? by hitting the fans up for a significant some.

Of course I’d love it to be free or significantly cheaper but those that thought it would be are dreaming imo
