Laugh all you want. If Zack Martin keeps sitting out, I hope Jerry doesn't cave in and overpay him another record new contract extension at Zack's age.
I don't disagree but I think it depends on the ask. I have no issue with Jerry giving Zack a pay bump, my concern is how long a new contract may extend out for. If a new deal makes it tough to move on from Martin at age 36/37 I would be very hesitant if I'm the Cowboys.

He's a 10 year vet who wants nothing to do with camp. He'll be there week 1.

I really dont care how, but this will be resolved financially in August if not sooner. Hopefully one of the backup OGs makes good use of the increased practiced reps while Martin is out.

Meanwhile, in Buffalo. It has been reported that the 59th selection in the draft will be starting sooner than later.

Guaranteed that will play a role in a deal getting done for Martin. Otherwise, the Jones' will suffer the criticism of NOT drafting a guard with a higher draft selection. Not saying that's right, but you know it will happen. Time to let Chuma cook!

For everyone criticizing Zack Martin for not honoring his current contract…have you not noticed that NFL teams routinely cut players before their contract is officially up? Once the guaranteed amounts are paid, NFL teams can usually cut a guy. So let’s not act like the teams honor the original contract in its entirety because they often do not.

Zack Martin is a first ballot HOFer. Rare talent like this is worthy of a better deal. Because thinking that the original contract should be honored is not understanding how the owners trample that anyway.

He is my favorite current Cowboy. This 100% sure to be HoFer is beginning to be a bit underappreciated. If the Great Satan in Philly hears this, he might try to swoop in and grab him for a 5th.

Then again, does Zach really need a full training camp to be ready?

Move Tyler Smith to Zack Martin's starting position at Right Guard. Send the message to Zack Martin that he can be replaced with superior and much younger quality. Plug in Matt Farniok at Left Guard. Chuma Edoga, Asim Richards and TJ Bass are the backups. Problem solved.
Let's move our future LT to RG just to spite the future hall of famer? lol

Just pay the man, he's well worth it.

Crazy…..we are on a path trying to win the SB and one of our “leaders” is sitting out. I’m torn on whether I should be disappointed or respect the decision….

They also come to players like him to restructure, so i sure there is a sales pitch at the time as well that in the future, when you need it, we’ll be there.

Jerry, Stephen and his agent likely working on something while Martin is on vacation somewhere with his family right now

I’m laughing at you trying to spin that Tyler Smith is all of a sudden better than Martin at a position he’s never played in his life.
I never said Tyler Smith is better. Where did I say that? I said Tyler Smith is superior and young talent who could easily start at Right Guard and not miss a beat. Easy replacement.
