Not on our line.. Dallas runs the majority of their run plays behind ZM. Zeke in 2020 said thus explicitly and called him the best player on the offense. When he was shelved for the season, the drop off was huge.
2020? You never talk about anything current you always resort back to years back…

Zack Martin was given an NFL record highest paid Guard ever contract extension back in 2018. With 2 years still left in that contract, Zack Martin is trying to pull a stunt for another record paid new contract extension at 33 years of age. If he misses all of training camp, I would be looking to trade him and send him and the rest of the team a message that such actions will not be tolerated.

and why not ?
A future HOF'er that is still making pro bowls, All pro lists, and still playing at a very high level, ..is not entitled to such requests ?

This dummy - listen teams can’t just increase your pay cause others make more. Things go up - it’s called timing. You signed contract and were top at that time. There’s a salary cap. You’re declining. Get your *** to camp.

Salary Cap!!! Only so much space available, plus 6+ young bucks are due contract extensions.

Getting rid of your best player on a team that envisions itself a Super Bowl contender is colossally stupid.

Not only does it make your team worse in the short-term, it presents yourself as an organization that is difficult to do business with, especially for premiere players, making contracting harder in the future. The one thing the Cowboys have always reliably done is pay their homegrown talent, just zero reason to crater that with someone as polished as Martin.

Just absolutely 0 upside to this.

So you want to pay Zack Martin $20 million/year at his age (33) for another 4+ years, meanwhile you have 6+ young players whose contract extensions are due?

Lol a Martin extension may lower his hit this year and would certainly lower it next year, probably by close to $10m.

The idea that 6+ young bucks need contracts is a total misrepresentation of when those extensions are due, and when/how Martin's contract might impact them.

Yet 80% of the CZers have been wringing their hands and having sleepless nights about:
1a) Cowboys rolling the dice with Tryon staying injury-free, without aquiring proven league FAs available;
1b) Hemhawing about putting in and leaving Tyler at LT to perhaps evolve into a top player in the league - instead of plugging him in at LG;
2) WHOSE GOING TO BE THE STARTING LG? Most members offering their 2 cents believes in any of the current backups to step in or up to do the job;
3) Starting RT coming off a late season major leg injury that begs the question what will be his status=playing ability at regular season's start.

So...in an offseason where the FO parted ways with the somewhat successful OC...obtained two proven longtime players @ CB and WR, among other changes that signal the heiarchy believes this squad can break through for a long and successful playoff run ---
why create another OLine quandry, being avderse to appeasing a top-five player on the team (and still regarded a top-five player at his position league-wide).
Something can be worked out so that Martin will be satisfied to highly compete for the Cowboys his last 2-3 seasons playing...that ultimately could help result to getting the long-awaited 6th NFL Championship.

Yes. Unequivocally.

This 6 player thing is also total nonsense. CD's extension doesn't start until 2025, Micah until probably 2026. If Martin costs you Biadasz (he won't) so be it.

You don't know how to build/re-build and stay competitive.

and you think the NFL team salary cap is going to stay as it is now?

you don't think NFL team caps will not rise and expand with the TV contract deals ?

Why do you think these players are trying to sink in what the market value is out there ?

And there's always ways to move, manipulate and restructure team contracts to fit salary caps.. both current and future.
NFL teams and front office organizations do it all the time .
