I concurHe needs a new agent not a new contract.

All they need to do is move a couple million from 2024 to this year. We need to restructure that final year anyway because that cap hit is huge. But I certainly wouldn't tear up his current deal. When they get his money right.
Dont want a disgruntled OL talking crap in the locker.
They just need to fix his 2023 base pay.
Extend everything out and give him another bonus.
Maybe get him some financial planning advice too.
I do, it is deposited into my bank account. So I am hoping he at least holds out for a week.Who's gets the 50k per day?
There is zero reason for Zach to hold out. Chicken poop move. All they need to do is move a couple million from 2024 to this year. We need to restructure that final year anyway because that cap hit is huge. But I certainly wouldn't tear up his current deal.
Don't forget, you agreed to meet me at the casino w/ handfuls of cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!I do, it is deposited into my bank account. So I am hoping he at least holds out for a week.
Yes but we need at least a weeks holdout.Don't forget, you agreed to meet me at the casino w/ handfuls of cash!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No I absolutely agree. Like I said, he's gambling that the Joneses will flinch. Guard is a really easy role to fill if need be. Zack might be playing checkers when Jerry is playing chess. There is zero reason for Zach to hold out. Chicken poop move.
I don't think any Cowboys fan agrees with this statement unfortunately. Zach is the OL and has been for years. And who is going to fill in for him, when we can't even piece together the other OL positions? If MM is correct and he is taking the ball out of Dak's hands more, no Zach is not a good thing and Zach knows this...No I absolutely agree. Like I said, he's gambling that the Joneses will flinch. Camp is a great time to see what we have at guard behind him then.I don't think any Cowboys fan agrees with this statement unfortunately. Zach is the OL and has been for years. When or if Tyrone goes down, they will move Tyler out to left tackle. Then that means you got both guard positions to fill. That is if Martin doesn't come back. That would not be good.No I absolutely agree. Like I said, he's gambling that the Joneses will flinch. Guard is a really easy role to fill if need be. Right , and when he gets a new deal it will probably include enough to pay for fines. He’ll probably never be out those fines directly.Yes, deducted by the Club from his paycheck
Read the bold words.
There's a reason why players disgruntled with their contract since the new CBA has been put in place report to camp and then get "injured" with some soft tissue injury.

Training camp holdouts by players under contract are largely going to be a thing of the past because of more severe penalties in the 2020 NFL/NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement. Teams are required to fine players who aren't on rookie contracts $50,000 per day with training camp absences. Players on rookie contracts, like Adams, are subject to a $40,000 daily fine.
Under previous CBAs, the fines could be reduced or waived. Fine forgiveness or reduction is only allowed for players under rookie contracts, such as Adams, with the current CBA.

Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has dusted off the old-school way of getting more, despite the new-age costs associated with players under contract failing to show up for training camp. He’s staying away, and he’s apparently willing to pay.
Under Article 42, Section 1(b)(vi) of the 2020 CBA, Jones (as a player under his second contract with the Chiefs) faces a “mandatory fine of $50,000 per day.” And by “mandatory,” the NFL and NFL Players Association have agreed that it will be mandatory.
“For the avoidance of doubt, any such fines shall be mandatory, and shall not be reduced in amount or waived by the Club, in whole or in part, but must be paid by the player or deducted by the Club as provided in Section 5(b) of this Article,” the CBA states.
The daily $50,000 clock starts on the reporting date and continues until the Sunday immediately preceding the first game of the regular season. That’s six weeks. That’s $2.1 million.
Jones clearly doesn’t care. He’s trying to get the kind of payday over the next few years that will dwarf $2.1 million. And even though the Chiefs can no longer waive the fines (teams used to quietly do just that), Jones can ask for enough to cover the fines, on top of whatever he wants.
It's pretty clear
Yea, his contract was done 5 years ago. He’s not even a top 5 paid OL or G anymore . If anyone on our team deserves a bump it’s Martin. He has played at a super bowl winning level.
Basing all players' worth on how far they go in the playoffs is beyond silly. You need new parameters!!!!!
Possibly , but his deal from 5 years ago is out dated now. It needs to be rejuvenated. Unless you don’t believe he’s still a top 5 Guard.Seems like a veteran trying to keep the year a bit shorter on his aging body to me!
All money collected from fines go to the league, which it disburses to charitable causes, including support to retired players.Who's gets the 50k per day?
Seems like the team should just get a credit. So the team pays full salary no matter what but the league collects the money if a player holds out. Not sure why that's intriguing to me but it seems weird. He should just come to camp and pull a glute. And not practice while they work on a deal. All money collected from fines go to the league, which it disburses to charitable causes, including support to retired players.
In the past, the teams could forgive the fines once the player ended his holdout and reported to camp - but that is no more.Seems like the team should just get a credit.
