Why wouldn’t we pay him?
They will. Why wouldn’t we pay him?
Yea, it’s really laughable how wrong some in this forum get it. LolFor everyone criticizing Zack Martin for not honoring his current contract…have you not noticed that NFL teams routinely cut players before their contract is officially up? Once the guaranteed amounts are paid, NFL teams can usually cut a guy. So let’s not act like the teams honor the original contract in its entirety because they often do not.
Zack Martin is a first ballot HOFer. Rare talent like this is worthy of a better deal. Because thinking that the original contract should be honored is not understanding how the owners trample that anyway.
Then we go 8-9 and that message is completely lostZack Martin was given an NFL record highest paid Guard ever contract extension back in 2018. With 2 years still left in that contract, Zack Martin is trying to pull a stunt for another record paid new contract extension at 33 years of age. If he misses all of training camp, I would be looking to trade him and send him and the rest of the team a message that such actions will not be tolerated.
Yea, our OL, offense and prob season are compromised without Martin. Some of these fans are idiots. They will.
Our fan base just overreact to every thing.
Steele was career ending.
Pollard will never walk again.
Diggs was an overpay and now we cannot afford Martin
Well, it’d be a great excuse for all of the Dak homers if the offense suks. LolThen we go 8-9 and that message is completely lost
The man as you call him is 33 years old and has missed 30 percent of all games the past three seasons. Sure he is hof but even hofers have a shelf life. He is getting paid what he is getting paid. Most I do is add 2 million to his deal over the remainder of the contract if he don’t accept than you have to move onPay the man!
Missing 8 games out of around 150 isn't bad at all. He is getting up there in age but I would pay him a decent amount more to keep him happy and for longer. 3-5 more million a year won't hurt the cowboys imo.The man as you call him is 33 years old and has missed 30 percent of all games the past three seasons. As long as he doesn’t miss one game, who cares. That 50k a day will start to add up.
That is misleading. Martin played all 17 games last season. And he played all 16 the year before. The man as you call him is 33 years old and has missed 30 percent of all games the past three seasons. Do you actually believe this or are you just trolling?Prediction: His Cowboys career is over.
He is good but again, is the criteria for holdout outrage based on how good you are?Nah just laughing at guys trying to downplay how good he is. It’s kind of hilarious.
Jerry pays his players the 1 time he didn't the Cowboys lost 2 games without their star RB in the 90s. I'm confident they'll reach an agreement. They'll probably add a year or 2 the contract, increase his base and add some incentives for games played, etc. They still value Martin so I doubt they screw something up with him.Old news but Jerry will screw this up
