I don’t think they want to add more $$$ to the cap.
 
I think he was very, very hurt this past season and the drop off in play was due to injury, not inherent decline. He was still great in 2022. If he heals I think he's worth one more year, especially with the lack of vets on our line.
 
If he wants to play on the cheap, fine. Otherwise, let him go. Time to move on. Got his money when he held out.

NEW ORLEANS – Being in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX is a bittersweet moment for Zack Martin. On one hand, he's the Cowboys nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, one of the most prestigious honors in the NFL.

On the other hand, he's not in town playing for a chance to win a Lombardi trophy.

"I mean, it'll be cool to experience it as a fan, but obviously wish we could have played in it at some point in my career." Martin said.

He will try to get healthy and then get the heck out of this place as fast as he is able to.

One of the best OL we had in the last 3 decades. Was badly injured last year and played thru it. Real warrior. Never heard a bad word from him. Even in those bad times he had to experience with this franchise. Had envisioned a different career for sure (I would have). Not one that was thrown away by this ridiculous FO we have.

Just look at this forum and how "real" fans treat him in exchange for that. Who wouldnt want to stick around? Dak for sure.

Like the sh/t we attract dung flies.

Its interesting to hear him mention other teams. Tyron probably told him even the disaster show that is the Jets was more focused on football.

Frederick recovered from his disease. Martin's main problem is age and wear and tear on his body.

But agreed, if he comes back healthy for one more year, he'll make lots of money, and hopefully he'll do like the o-lineman that played one more year, with the Rams, and get a ring...
 
For the love of all things holy, just retire dude. Blocking improved when you hit the bench in 2024.

Lol, if it wasn’t the Jets and this past season I’d agree.

I can imagine the conversation:
Martin- “Hey Tyron, I need to get away from that crazy circus and that egomaniac Jones”
Smith-“Zach let me introduce you to someone. Aaron meet Zach, Zach meet Aaron”
Martin- “Ya know, I’m going to try and get healthy for Dallas and I’m going to go give Jerry a hug. Good luck Tyron, you’re going to need it”.
