“Buh Zeke has more yaaaaardzzzz!!”

To get those 497 more yards Zeke needed 239 more career carries.

:lmao:

Durability. Productivity. Blocking. Receiving. You lose on all fronts. It's been a pleasure educating you. Ya'll come back now, ya' hear.

To be honest, it doesn't matter if Zeke is fast or slow, he simply hasn't been able to break out into the open filed for a long run. If it's not his speed then it's something else specific to him because Pollard does it on a weekly basis. You can't blame the blocking if your teammate is doing what you seemingly can't.

If we're going to debate something you cannot interject something so blatantly false into the discussion. Pollard has two games this season where he has failed to reach TWO YARD PER CARRY.. And in one of those he didn't even make to ONE YARD PER CARRY. He is NOT putting up long runs "on a weekly basis." Pollard has two runs of over 20 yards this season.. Zeke has one.. They each have one reception of over 20 yards.. So basically Pollard has delivered one more explosive play this season than Zeke has.. Now would you like me to list the number of negative plays they've each given us?

Let's not get it twisted.. I love Tony Pollard in the change of pace back role. He's mostly killin it in that role. But I (and apparently his coaches) don't think he is suited to be the lead dog in the sled. There is nothing wrong with him doin what he do and letting Zeke do what he do. It's a winning formula. If we can get Kellen Moore to use it ..

Let me help you Ronald since you don't understand the role of percentages.

Well since you like the numbers so much let's delve into these:

Plays tackled for loss in 2022

Zeke .
7 (94) for -13 yards .
Apx one neg run every 13 carries for -1.85 avg

Pollard
6 (55) for -23 yards
Apx one neg run every 9th carry for -3.8 avg

So Pollard is one and a half times as likely to lose yards and when he does he loses twice as many yards. Could this propensity for leaving the offense in 2nd and 14 be part of the reason he doesn't play more? Fine if you wanna believe the one 20+ yard run every 27 carries offsets that. Most coaches would disagree. I know at least one coaching staff does..

Source for the negative run data?

Luuulz, we’re talking about a sample size of 6 and 7 carries. Do you understand how averages work Ronald?

With the sample sizes being so small, one -7 yard loss can skew the data.

Interesting that you would cite lack of sample size while ignoring the simple fact that Pollard's total gaudy yards per carry numbers are skewed tremendously by HIS small sample size. He has gained more than a third of his yards this season on 2 carries for 101 yards.. On his other 53 carries he has totaled 191 yards.. A hefty 3.6 ypc. If Zeke was averaging 3.6 ypc yall would be excoriating him even worse than you do.. And again, fantasy nerds continue to overvalue "explosive plays." Yes they're great and they're fun to watch.. but they have to be the cherry on top of a good sundae .. not the whole damn sundae.. Until Pollard's long runs are accompanied by more consistent chain moving runs (and better pass blocking) he's going to remain a second fiddle type back. There is nothing wrong with that.. until you try turning him into something he isn't.

I reiterate.. name the most explosive runners in NFL history.. Simpson, Dickerson, Sayers, Sanders, Peterson et al.. one thing they all have in common is that they spent the bulk of their careers watching other, less explosive runners perform in the playoffs.

Zeke had a nice game and was definitely running hard. The problem is a nice game for Zeke is now 80+ yards when it used to be like 125+.

Dude hasn't rushed for over 100+ since last October and is no longer a home run threat at all. I like Zeke and he was a great player when he started for us but it's time to move on.

Getting out of his contract is one of my top priorities moving forward b/c it's arguably one of the worst in football.
That's what happens when you take 10 carries off the play chart.

Coach hand times are always inaccurate and not to be trusted. He looks outright slow in the open field. Easily ran down by any cb. Definitely not 4.4 or even 4.5 speed anymore.
Yet the couldn't run him down on the philly TD.

You guys either don;t watch the games or straight up lie.

hes got a 18 million cap hit and 30 million dead cap. He the highest paid player in the game by 7m
sorry I'm off this wagon
If Pollard gets the QB killed you'll be back on.

He let them get a beeline on Cooper several times against philly.

Oh gosh the totals are an even worse look than I thought when you factor in number of carries / touches.

J/C did you use a site for this or just manually pull the info?

I also just looked another site and there were 26 RBs last year with more explosive runs (15+) than Zeke. 26…26!!!

He was well worth the high draft pick. He was the premiere running back in the league for his first four years before injuries and the workload wore his knees out.
IMO no running back is worth being a top of the draft pick.
