I appreciate the time, effort, and intelligence you devoted to defending immature and dumb behavior under the ennobling guise of individual liberty. Zeke is indeed an American hero and champion of freedom. We salute you, and those intrepid defenders of juvenile male jackassery, Zeke.

Jackassery! Another Sasquatch Gem!

LOL......

Wonder what commish would do if Zeke was back in the day at Woodstock 1969. Nudity, Sex. drugs everywhere. lol.

To be honest, it likely wouldn't even have been that big of a deal because the money was very different then. After everything, when all is said and done, it's the money that really drives all of this. It's why the NFL hired a guy like Gooden, it's why the media makes so much of every little thing, it's why focus groups have so much power in the PC world, it's why most of this stuff is treated as it is.

I mean, there is clearly a segment of society that sees things like this as unacceptable and to be honest, I am probably in that group. I have two daughters as well and the reasonable side of my brain would make an argument to myself that says, if my daughter is going to allow herself to be treated in such a way, then she deserves to backlash that comes with it but the Dad side of my Brains still looks at that and says, "Hey you sorry piece of crap, stop treating my Daughter like she's a slut! I don't care what she is telling you is OK!"

That, IMO, is why Goodell would not really face much backlash if he decided to take action on this thing. JMO

I don't think the league will or can hand down any discipline based on this situation, and if/when they do discipline Zeke it will be worded to reflect its off of the previous DV issue. Hence the "No comment" from the league.

Just because you don't hit on all the issues being discussed doesn't mean the discussions aren't being had with those topics of support. Remember that when you read a my responses so if you and I are to talk, its like this, in a clear understanding. Don't come into the room yelling squirrel. ;p

nobody knows what the league is going to do.

just because the league said "no comment" on the day the story broke out does not mean anything.
the league is not going to want to come out as a rush to judgment ?
it is not as if he was on the video of physically beating the crap out of the women.

put yourself in the league's shoes for a minute.
here is one of the brightest stars that is hurting his own brand and the league's brand.
he is pissing off women's group because he is objectifying women.
the objectifying part is not illegal but that is what they are really pissed about.
and they will also use his fame as free publicity at the same time.
are women the biggest fans, no, but i suspect they are not a small part of the overall market.

what do you do about it?
i dont know if i were the league.
you dont want the union to be upset, but it may depend if the women's groups continue to pound on this or forget about it because the he is vacationing with her.
he had better make her really happy.
i kind of wish she is really ugly so zeke gets his punishment so it will not happen again

this is what zeke needs a little of :lmao: :

And just to add to this, which by the way, is a very balanced post IMO, women are a target demographic of the NFL for the last few years. They see women as one of the largest potential expansions for the NFL. They are absolutely going to be very sensitive to how this looks or is presented.

I saw what you did there, aww.. :)

But No, that response I gave you was a polite way of saying, YOU should expand yourself on the subject, if you don't have the foresight for it now. I don't feel the need nor inclination to go further into detail about it on a football forum the sentence has its own merit for study if you so wish. I already know the avenue he could take. Maybe someone else here can help you. Is that a sufficient answer?

Not the ole "I don't feel the need ... to go further into detail" get-out-of-jail free card.

Okay, so since you're passing maybe someone else can answer the question.

Exactly what Constitutional right covers Zeke here? Any takers? :)

Very well, go ahead and explain to me how his Constitutional Rights would be violated and then, why the NFL would not have authority, based on the contractual agreement Elliott entered into, upon entering the League?

He says we need to expand our knowledge and research the topic because he's not going to tell us why.

Once you start down the road of legislating morality, you can't go back. Does he suspend a player for barfing in public or at a strip bar? What if Brady is seen cupping his wife in public, is that suspendable?

Uh, the reason we have laws is to legislate morality. Our laws against murder, manslaughter, theft, burglary, etc., are attempts to legislate morality.

Maybe you want to more narrowly define your point because you painted too broad a brush.

it seems they had an ongoing relationship, this isn't a situation like some are making out that he was just standing next to some random woman and said, oh let me pull down your shirt.

Maybe not but you do not do this in public. Irvin had a past relationship with the girl who filed rape charges on him along with Eric Williams, so past relation do not always mean everything is ok.
Look I just think this young man needs to use better judgment before he runs into a situation that hurts his career.

but what does the code of conduct say, is it so vague and the punishments not set out to the point Robespierre can do what he wants, I think not

Try common sense, if he is doing this in public then it is wrong with or with her consent. I care for the guy and do not want to see him throw it away over stupid and silly BS. We can all turn a blind eye but action like this can get a player into hot water.

Actually, consent doesn't do that. It's illegal for two consenting adults to have sex in public, for example. There are laws, in certain areas they may differ a bit but, consent doesn't really give a pass on some of those things.

Exactly. People have to remember that the Constitution:
1. Addresses what the Government can or can't do and
2. Is shaped by the mores and standards of the times and can be abridged and clarified by local ordinances such as laws against public nudity or noise ordinances, etc.
