Don't kid yourself, brother. The only reason this place doesn't look like that place is due to an excellent moderation philosophy and staff.

Truth.

You've got a little something on your nose.

That's not how it works in a court of law. The court will almost always defer to the more specific language. If the original document handed down from the league office states "6 regular season games", there is no way they can force him to miss playoff games. I doesn't matter what their official policy is. They handed down a specific punishment and if it goes to court, they will be held to that specific language. You know Zeke will sue and get an injunction allowing him to play in the playoffs.

Actually, as I noted earlier. If the players is suspended for six regular season games. This means the player cannot interact with the team in any way while on suspension. So, the NFL could say suspend him during week 17 through the fifth game of the following season. Since he cannot interact with the team the entire time he is suspended. He wouldn't be able to practice or play in playoff games either. Look at playoff games, they are very different than regular season games. The NFL (not the team) pays players for playoff games. Those are part of the players standard contract. :)

Yeah right. If a player on a different team got suspended 6 games and suddenly got to come back for the playoffs against the cowboys, I would be furious. That makes zero sense whatsoever.

It makes perfect sense if said player was suspended for "6 regular season games" and the suspension started with less than 6 games to go in the regular season. Words mean things and in court specific words and phrases are interpreted as they are written. If it says 6 regular season games and they go to court, the NFL will have to argue that playoffs are regular season games. I doubt that will fly.

They'll try though.

Just popped open an ice cold Gatoraid and turned it up.

Same here baby. I call my electrolytes Gin and Scotch though...
All the added accouterments are simply vitamins, needed to replenish the punishment I'm about to gleefully induce upon myself, for the greater good of all mankind.

So if the league wants to play games with the language in contract, then they should also include preseason games as games where zeke can potentially serve his suspension (if he is to get suspended).

But would that request and refusal give them an appeals possibility when she rules against Zeke?
Failla is the district court judge. Whomever loses (which she has made clear the NFLPA will lose) has automatic rights of appeal to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals, so they don't need "grounds for appeal." CA2 would be starting fresh so the earlier conflict of interest would not be a factor.
