Is Zeke the only RB in the NFL that can do those things?
He was at the time for any RB's that was available. And he has proven he is one of the best at it over the years.
They should have drafted a RB but they didn't so he was the best option.

We have not, and will not see Zeke play yet until week one.

Zeke has benefice catching passes out of the back field. And he is not too slow. He can't break the very long runs. But how often do you see even the fastest RB's go for 50 plus yards. Not as often as some make it put to be.

Zeke will surprise this year, if they do not over use him.
If memory serves me well you are one of zeke homers in this board so it’s tough to take too much of your analysis in without taking that into account

Having said that there is literally 0 chance he gets cut especially to hang on to a back that is literally Mighty Mouse in cleats minus the mighty part

I believe zeke will be the best back on the roster this year but that’s not a ringing endorsement the bar isn’t high

I’d love to be pleasantly surprised

The Rico, Freeman, and Deuce trio is fine by me.

Zeke is too slow now and hasn’t been a great receiving back in the pros. What has he done to not have to prove himself in the preseason?
Don't under rate Zeke's veteran leadership in the clubhouse behind closed doors and or the sidelines. He is a very good back to get us the tough yards when called upon too. We will see his value when the season begins I am confident. For his detractors and naysayers well you gonna nay say so no changing your minds about him.

I like Zeke, yes. But I will also tell it like it is. If you do not want to take my analysis as is, then so be it.
I do not expect Zeke to come in and lead in rushing for the team. But I think he will help more than hurt.

I wouldn’t have brought him back but if they actually DO use him in the role most around here anticipate, it can work.

Problem is….I’m not at all buying that until I see it. Last I heard Coach Jerry said “RB1.”

Let’s see how that all goes, especially if they struggle early and Elliott isn’t getting many touches.

Sorry I just don’t care for players that have a direct line to Jerry, although that’s his fault, not theirs. It’s part of the culture problem.

RBs are a dime a dozen, and Zeke's time has clearly passed. The Cowboys are the only NFL team that latches onto old RBs that take up valuable roster spots.

That is not what they did last year. They released Zeke and overpaid Pollard. What did that get us? It got us worse at RB.
They did not latch on to any old RB's last year.

What's your evidence that he'd serve as a veteran leader? Royce Freeman has a Super Bowl ring, so wouldn't he serve as a better "leader?" Zeke has won nothing since his rushing titles early in his career.

Dallas misevaluated Pollard's health as he wasn't feeling "like himself" again until mid to late in 2023. They could've easily brought in another RB or traded for one, but decided not to.

Lol locker room value. How many playoff wins did he inspire in all those years here?

Cutting Zeke would be a smart thing to do. But their not smart.

The fact that you didn't answer the question tells me all I need to know about you lol
My dislike for him? I literally just named my new kitten after him last month. I don't dislike Zeke; I don't even know the guy.

Hard to judge Zeke when we haven’t seen him play yet. I still think he has a role on this team.

Team really struggled in short yardage situations last yr, you would think this is where Zeke's role will be.
I agree. But there is no way Zeke should be making as much as he is considering he will only be a short yardage specialist. No other team in the league would have paid him what the cowboys did.

That’s fair.

I do expect Zeke to have the best stats as I don’t expect dowdle to be injury free . I just don’t believe the stat sheet from our running backs to be too impressive and zekes prowess around the goal line is exactly why he was brought in

The cowboys lackluster approach to RB this off-season given our run issues last year leave a lot to be desired
