The same guy that reported this about the sex tape blackmail. He said so this morning.

If the league has nothing else, than Zeke can get significant public support. But if the NFL is holding on to damaging evidence for just such an appeal, then that's another deal.

What guy?

By the way, RG never spoke to EE or Tiffany and I'm pretty sure I read that he won't be in attendance at the appeal.

Probably the smartest move he's made. I'd want to distance myself from this fiasco if I could too. But ultimately, it all comes back to him as the man in charge. Can't hide from that.

"Matters" plenty when that's where this case is eventually headed.

And the NFL's look goes from "bad" to worse as they're publicly scolded and shown to be even more incompetent.

Apparently unaware that they're setting precedent for each and every crazy, money-grubbing screwball to run to the pay window.

The NFL could appoint an independent arbiter for the appeal, which will make it very difficult to get the case heard beyond that.

Yeah, the exact same reporter who broke this story. He said he's working on that story right now.

Well see. Seems if they had some smoking gun they would not be holding it and would have included the evidence in the initial assessment. The only thing that I think it could be are the interviews the letter alluded to, but then again, who knows.

The same yahoo guy that released this story this morning on the Cowboys broadcast station. He said that's the prevailing thought.

When Zeke shows his full hand in the appeal, the league will also show theirs.

He also said that one game is a given just for the "boob" incident.

Wait, so he said the "prevailing thought" is the NFL has more info? So he doesn't actually know if it's true?

I'll say this. I still believe that the possibility of her being assaulted by Elliott exists. But the NFL better have a lot more than what they have to do this to a kid. If I were a fan of the NFL here, I'd really hope and pray they had more than what has been reported.

If he did some research he'd know at least one of the panelists has a questionable history here with NFL Punishments. Mary Jo White was involved in the Bounty Gate investigation and she came under heavy criticism for her findings, statements, etc.

So no, these people are not all impeccable, unbiased, independent agents, incapable of making mistakes, etc.

You mean he was also unaware of that fact, and "naive"?

Goodell might be backed into a corner he can't get out of, we can only hope we are that lucky .

Serious question...

How much talk in the media is there that the NFL looks really bad?

Again though, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. That's the point that so many people are missing. Is she the scum of the earth? It appears that she is. But, that doesn't mean that he's incapable of harming her, and this isn't about her, this is about him.
No it is actually about her. Unless there is evidence then it's her word against his and her credibility is very vital in all this.

I think he's done already. Don't expect a firing because that makes the shell look bad. But his teeth will be pulled until he quietly slinks away in a year when his contract is up. That I do expect.

And apparently that wasn't enough for the league.

To my knowledge, he has yet to come out and admittedly deny the claims. Until he does so, I think that it's going to be hard for him to win any case.
He did so last year though.

Funny thing when police ask her if she needs medical attention she say no, however the NFL ask so called medical experts to look at pictures Thompson took and determine if this was DV? This would be a comedy if it were not so tragic

How so? Do tell.

Goodell could hear the appeal, but he probably won't. He could assign a committee to hear it. Or, he could assign it to an independent arbiter to hear it.

If it's done independently, and Zeke tries to take it to federal court, they could rule that it's already been taken to an outside court and refuse to hear the case.

The key is to get an INJUNCTION, which would allow him to play while it's in court. If the federal courts refuse to hear it, then no injunction is applied, and the suspension begins as it stands at that point.
