I get it, but I don't think the combine isn't going to tell you something we don't already know.

Zeke is easily replaceable by a back in this years draft.

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for him, but it's not hard to improve over 2 YPC
The first problem is, you might already need to take a back in the draft with Pollards (2) positions.

So basically they're gonna see if any other team has intrest in signing him, then IF and only IF there's no intrest will he stay in Dallas. Cut this garbage now! He shouldn't even have the option to take a pay cut, anything more than vet minimum is too much for his 1yard rushing arse.

That's a fair point.

I'm not a fan of drafting for need, so I definitely wouldn't want to take 2 backs in the draft.

I'm okay with taking one addressing the need to replace Zeke as long as it's not in the 1st round. If we need additional help and if Davis isn't the next man up, we should address that in FA.

He’s going to have to take a substantial pay cut to have any chance of staying with the team. If we keep Zeke and move on from Pollard the fans frustration level with the organization is going to reach an all time high.

Not sure why they think the combine is going to determine his value. His play on the field did that already.
Yeah I dont get that either. Is he going run the combine again? And hope that helps? lol
Combine is where alot of deals start. His agent is likely going to gauge GM's interest at the combine and then go from there. Smart on the agents part

Every owner besides Jerry would get rid of Zeke and his contract in two seconds.

Jerry logic...my man still sells tons of jerseys he can stay

Not really sure why people have difficulty understanding this.. Every team's GM and coaches will be at the combine and as such the agent will have opportunity to be within earshot of a bunch of discussions about how teams feel about the guys in he upcoming draft, the free agents and veterans likely to be on the block like Zeke. If he overhears one or two of them musing aloud about Zeke he strikes up a conversation, figures out the $$$, the fit, Zeke's interest, their interest and go from there. It's an agent doing his job. I have always maintained that Zeke should instruct his agent to find out if indeed there is a good team that will pay him decent money AND give him the ball. If there isn't one, take the pay cut and stay in Dallas. There is no way he does what Emmitt did and goes to some crap team just to hang around. Emmitt was trying to pad that record and was already playing on a crap team .. Zeke has not had that misfortune yet.. and I seriously doubt he wants it unless the money is just stoopid.

What the agent is saying is, he will ask around at the combine if any team would seriously sign zeke and at what price. If no legit offers, he will take a pay cut.

Don't get me wrong, Zeke has been a warrior and turned into quite the leader. It's obvious though that he has little to nothing in the tank. If he accepted vet minimum I'd be okay with giving him a shot in training camp, but I think what's best for the team is probably to cut him after June 1.

I agree that they (the front office) often do what's worst for production on the field.
Some teams cut highly paid players and then end up signing them to a much smaller contract.
- i.e. Regotiate after cutting instead of while on the roster at the high salary.
- Then they know the player's real market value.
- It also means that they've taken all cap hit with the cut.
- The new contract would have zero guaranteed money.

The bad thing about cutting he is that it could only be after June 1st, and only until then could that money be used, so the best solution would be to accept a pay cut

We could replace Zeke with a 4th round back. Zeke is a shell of himself. He turned into a pretty boy and now runs soft.
