Yeah I truly don't know if people are that ignorant to actual draft success rates or if they need to blame someone whos last name isn't Jones to give them some sort of hope for change. By almost any metric you go by the Cowboys have been a top 10 if not top 5 team in draft success over the past decade.
The entitlement is hilarious to me. They don't care about the reality of other teams. They are comparing this team to the Triplets era teams.

Anything less is failure. That get's what we have seen since January.

They played Mazi almost exclusively at 3T, so yeah they should take a load of the blame. He should have been learning proper 1T technique all of last season to prepare him to stop the run by this season.

With the offseason shoulder surgery he's missed a lot of those technical on hand teachings.
Mazi is getting every opportunity to improve. Word is he is trying hard. I can see a path to success.

TC hype is the same every year. You will never hear a coach say a player isn't getting it done. They are always positive.

The truth will emerge eventually. You cannot hide it in the NFL. By the end of the preseason games we will know exactly where Mazi is.

We all know what happened to him last year. That is 100% on the coaches.

The coaching staff failed some players last year. Mazi is in that group.
The coaching staff caused him to be the last person to move at the snap? Wasn't that a known trait coming into the league?

The coaches may very well have failed him in some ways but if the guy was truly a first round talent he wouldn't have looked as inept as he did regardless.

Yep, the bust rate is much higher than people generally tend to think.

Yet another reason why the plan to use only the draft as a means to build a winner will never add up.

Beat writers/scouts at camp know what they're looking at since they've been doing it for years....We're a week into camp, don't read too much into what Zimmers said, what did you expect Zimmer to say, Mazi sucks, why is he even on the team? Ofcourse he's trying to stay positive about the player..
So are you saying Mazi sucks, as if you know more than Zimmer, who is there every day?
Practices and meetings.

From the Inside the TC videos, the reporters have been saying he has looked good also.
Yes, only 4 or 5 practices since his shoulder surgery. But still something to look forward to his continued development.

Its called having high standards and expectations
if you are happy with relevancy, fine
don't expect others to be satisfied with less

Feel free to believe whatever you want. And I agree about people who are paid to give football opinions which for example Broaddus is. The thing with this particular video is these are just radio guys from the fan and it is OBVIOUS to them that Mazi is having problems performing and taking coaching. But hey maybe Mazi goes all pro some day. I wouldn't count on it though.
Broaddus was / is a horrible for his scouting opinions. He is biased about certain players, and always has been.
Radio guys are there to see their show for ratings. I don't take too much what they say for granted. It is like listening to some fans on here repeat the same things over and over either good or bad.

In another post I stated Inside TC reports said Mazi has looked good. However, some can say that is their opinions as well.

I think Mazi from some video clips I seen is doing what he is supposed to do and learning Zimmer's scheme.

Depend's on what the person is looking for as to what kind of opinion he'll form. Zimmerman made it clear Mazi is not going to be a speed rusher, he's a power rusher, takes on double teams, etc but speed rushing is not what he was drafted for. People wanted to see that anyway, but that's not what they're asking him to do. I hope Zimm can get what he wants out of the kid.
This was what he did in college as well. He was never asked to rush the passer in college. Nor really taught to do that as well.
Huge mistakes by his college coaches.

DQ did the same thing but hurt him even more by having him lose weight.

We need to see what he can do and will be asked to do in games. And it may take several real games or more, as with most players.

All the time, just like we hear fan speak and radio / tv speak.

Fan speak on hear mostly depends if a fan likes a player or not. Very seldom do we see a fair evaluation.

Belt & Broadus are at the practices in Oxnard they see first hand . According to Broadus late round draft pick Justin Rogers is outplaying # 1 pick Mazi Smith. Cowboys may have over reached with Smith but may have a rotational DT in Rogers .
Broaddus does not like Mazi. So he will not give a fair evaluation.

Is there anything more worthless than a Zimmer thread without pictures of his girlfriend.

I don't think this is true. No one would be losing their minds over a hard fought playoff loss on the road against a good team where our best players fought hard and cam up just short.

They literally had their diapers pulled down and got spanked like babies at home against an average Green Bay team.

The coaches may very well have failed him in some ways but if the guy was truly a first round talent he wouldn't have looked as inept as he did regardless.
Some ways? Let's also remember he was taken 6 picks before the end of the round. No players taken at the end of the 1st ever have first round grades. He didn't have first round talent just those other players. He wasn't a top 10 pick. He wasn't expected to walk in and start throwing OL around.

Michigan has a read and react scheme, that is why he didn't react off the snap properly. Kris Jenkins also had the same issue in this past years draft.

Belt complained about same thing said people think he’s Dak biased that’s why he trashes Lance . He denies this . Y’all don’t take these two opinions seriously I’ve noticed . They see these players every day .

Yeah I don't have anything really against Broaddus, but he's just as stubborn and opinionated as the rest of us. He might actually be worse at times since he is in the public eye and has to justify his stances on players. If he didn't like Mazi last year hes probably going to keep some of that same energy unless Mazi absolutely pushes him to change his public narrative on the player.

Any player taken in the top 32 picks are expected to look like they belong & show you glimpses of being something "more" than average though.
