Zimmer from the media's perspective

Exactly!

You forgot where that rookie coach came from. Name me a coach who knows more about the Cowboys. I can think of one.

This discussion isn't isolated to last night. Again, read the first post.

But since oyu mentioned it.....

Payton knew so much about the Cowboys because he was here for the past three years.

Did Mike Zimmer not learn anything about Payton during that time?

Surprise, surprise.. more excuses.

It's amazing that nobody believes in holding anyone for failures anymore.

500 yards
42 points (They were on pace for 63 had they not let up)

I don't care if Bradie James was telling Brees the defensive call on every down, you still shouldnt give up those numbers.

No one mentioned last nights game, clown.

Re-read the first post in this thread, and it points to 6 games in the past two years.

I was responding to other posters not yours. The responce to your post was that Jones and Parcells must disagree with you. Zimmer is still here.

Oh I forgot, clown.

Facts, facts, facts. Not nearly as fun as making crap up.:D
Once again.. we always look great on paper.

But when it's a critical time for us to make a stand and hold our ground we choke.

This didn't just happen last night. It happened last week against the Giants, agains the Eagles, agains the Skins, against the Jags, and the list goes on and on.

Actually, if you actually have been paying attention these past few years and been listening to some of our own defensive players you might come to understand that generating a pass rush isn't our primary focus.

Go back and listen to some of Bradie James's comments, Marcus Spears's comments, and multiple other defensive players and you'll hear from themselves that isn't what we try to do.

We try to contain the run and force things outside without focusing on the pass rush.

Which is so damn ironic... The Saints killed us on the outside... we have big linebackers, who are not that fast... and we couple the problem by going cover 2 to protect against the deep threat... opposing offenses, even if they don't score, tend to spend significant time moving the ball... we always play close in the end, and by the end of the game, our 4th quarter defense usually is so tired they end up giving up big plays... don't even get me started on the pass rush...

we are defensively so inept from the coaching perspective... we have monster talent...

I don't consider one game a failure. Sorry I think you are crying over split milk.

we HAD a pretty good pass rush going until we lost ellis, and now we're compensating for that fact to the best of our ability, but we are lacking in talent (or, if you insist we have great talent, then we are lacking in execution) up front. spears, for one, needs to step it up.

you guys need to chill. it's one game.

it's like troy always says...it's never as good as it seems when you win, and it's never as bad as it seems when you lose.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

And it wasn't just this game.. this has been happening since Zimmer has been here and well before Parcells took over also.

The Saints had a hurricane that destroyed their stadium and were playing at another turf for their home games... they were absolutely horrid.. the next year, they are 9-4 thoroughly smashing this guy by the name of Parcells, despite being shoddy a year ago in the talent department... Parcells has 4 years, and Peyton, one year...

Of course, it helps to have a top draft pick like Bush fall to you and a hot free agent quarterback in Brees pick your franchise.

It's all about talent.

With the exception of Ware, Newman and Roy Williams (who plays out of position most of the times), this defense isn't really all that talented/dominant. And it shows when we play good teams.

Torched? By the likes of who?

Isn't it amazing that we can have players who are here and play so poorly but yet they go to other teams and thrive?

Nah, the coaching doesn't have anything to do with that.

Hell.. even Ekuban had a couple of decent years in Denver...

Since when is NO, the Giants game, the DC game, the Jacksonville game, and I could name quite a few more just one game?

Its not one game.

6 in the past 2 years alone -- and this season isn't over.

When the pressure is on, Mike Zimmer and his defense folds like a cheap tent.

We beat the Giants didn't we? Geeze I remember a different offense that couldn't score points, let alone stay on the field for more than three plays at a time in the rest of those games. Kind of like last nights.

I don't think some of these people know how to read.

They can't seem to read past the fact that it hasn't just been one game.

We had NO PASS RUSH with Greg Ellis either...
