Hey, that's my job lol. We could have really gotten GrammaJan & Xelda had you switched to my avatar. :muttley:

Your right. I'll leave the imagery to the professionals moving forward. It was just so perfect that I could not resist. But you gotta admit, Coach took that wash board to a whole nother level and Xelda...... that sister was off the chain!

Good Friday to Pops and my fellow Friday fanatics. Man, I still love me some Friday's and I still manage to make it a little more special than the weekdays.

And a special Valentine's Day wish for all M'Ladies of the Forum. I have decided to do that rather than my annual rant against the retailers that thought this up because ya know, we didn't have to buy into it. That's like blaming these players for going for the gold, how can I when I would do the same thing.

However, I will offer some advice. There are two nights that you do not go to your favorite restaurant, St. Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve. They're only interested in table turns and hustling grub out of the kitchen to mostly diners that consider their restaurant a "special occasion" destination and will not return except for that.

One of the best radio promotions I ever did was Love Stinks, complete with the J. Giels Band theme song, which turned into a singles night meat market of epic proportions. My wife wondered how many babies were born in November. People were invited to bring a photo of their ex other for the "Cupid This" dart board but one of the regular listeners to our rock station had a better idea. They were taking the photos into the bathroom and putting them in the toilet and you can guess the rest. We had to make an announcement "photos don't flush". The owner of the bar told me that had been his biggest night ever and he invited me to come see him. He had saved what the women had been writing on the mirrors for me to see and all I gotta say is that if those men are sensitive about their manhood, good thing they didn't go in there. I made sure I wasn't up there because I did recall my wife going to the ladies' room.

Happy Friday Pops and friends. I almost didn't post today, but Coach's and Dabz' interpretations of V Day changed my mind. Stupid day. Stupid hopes. Stupid dreams. Wonderful chocolate that goes on sale tomorrow. Ok, I'm back. Have a good day in spite of the retailer's schemes.

My lantern light came in today and it looks exactly like a lantern. What was I expecting? It doesn't go with anything in the house. I'm trying to think of a light I can swap it out with, but nothing is coming to mind. I must have been desperate (which I was). Now it's back to square one with 400 pages to pour over in Amazon.

Sounds like a fixture for the garage or basement stairs....or just stand out on the front lawn with it.

Morning, Pops, fellas. Welcome to the Weekend! The cable/internet guy is coming this morning to upgrade my service.
Maybe I can goad him into telling me some jokes. I was paying $110 a month for TV and internet. So I stopped in their office yesterday to see how much it would cost to get faster internet. My current plan gives me 20mbs. The next step up would boost me to 45 mbs for an additional $17. That should be plenty fast enough for me. However, they have another bundle plan that I went for that will cost me an additional $19 over my current bill which gives me extra channels on the TV, a land line, which I probably won't use, and 75 mbs internet speed. That should stop the buffering when streaming on my firestick. Have a great weekend, friends.

Xelda wanted more details on my environment so I'll describe two morning ago when I got up and 4 a.m., made a pot of coffee and took a mugful out onto my balcony.

Ode to Xelda

Darkness envelops her chair up high
she listens as the waves crash nearby.
She sits alone while others sleep,
and lets her senses roam to pleasures deep.
She welcomes her time of solitude
when all her happy thoughts her heart exude.

The cool and gentle breeze doth bless
her face and arms with loves caress
A fine mist rides upon the air,
a blessing from her Lord up there.
Her blindness wrought by natures night
conceals the the world from mortal sight.

And yet she sees it her mind,
the beauty of a remembered time
when white capped waves would rush to shore
and gulls would swoop to eat once more.
And ships and boats would put to sail
their progress measured by vernier scale.

The broken clouds at moments revealed
the moon and it's light shined on that concealed.
Now white foam dances atop the brine
and silvery streaks on sea doth shine.
And when the clouds part once again,
it paints a palm tree sway with wind.

Now dawn breaks to usher day,
and slowly chases dark away.
The canvas of the Eastern heaven
from gray to red and orange doth leaven.
It's been two hours since first she sat,
and she relishes the memories she has begat.

Excellent but you failed to mention her new lantern lamp that arrived looking exactly like the picture online.

Good Saturday Pops and welcome RGV to his first official weekend in 2 years. I've been told once you retire, you no longer get weekends Life is a weekend and the party goes on forever. He is actually looking forward to Monday and the following work week and I shall pray for him. I am going to work him in between the starving children in China that had to eat the food I refused to ingest when I was a child and I am sure that has something to do with what's going on over there now and women with stretch marks. Isn't it enough to have to deal with being pregnant and delivering a child that they have to be stretched out of shape so far that they can't snap back?

Well, that about covers things on my mind for this Saturday and I disagree about not having weekends. When I retired, I let my brain relax on weekdays and let it go weekend mode so that the days don't all run together like Montuwethufri and I prefer Satsu. By the way, if you are trying to say that out loud, and I know you are, the end is like free, not fry. Pretty cool word if you ask me or the name of an Incan warlord. I picture my brain on weekends like that "this is your brain on drugs" ad, which I thought was appropriate since I could sometimes hear frying eggs when I was stoned. However, sometimes someone was frying eggs so there's that too.

Good weekend upon you workers and retirees, free your mind.

Same here Leon and I try to do that like cooking something special or having a martini. Weekdays, I just slug it out of the bottle. And I don't do doctor's appointments on Saturday's. I know, they're not working, they're wasting time like you do, cussing at a little white ball when you could be cussing at cars. But even if they did see patients on Saturday, they would not see me...…...so there. They can put that in their pipe and smoke it, or better yet, light up a stogie because I do that more on the weekends as well.
