Good morning Pops and fellow isolationists

With a cup of hot tea in hand and my trusty Texas A&M ballcap and sunglasses on, I headed outside this beautiful morning for a sunrise walk with the backup cats.

I was streaming Pandora movie musicals on the phone when the the Bee Gees' "Staying Alive" came. For reasons I can't explain, this is one of those songs that, sober or not, I break into dance moves. And, not any old dance moves, but the John Travolta-strutting-down the-sidewalk moves.

All was good until one of the cats broke into a dead run toward our nearest neighbor. Although we have rarely spoken, I was quite amused and pleased to hear "Staying Alive" coming from his balcony.

He leaned over his balcony and said, "Sometimes you just have to dance."

Good to see humor isn't dead.

Good morning Pops and friends. Row call. Present and all is well.

Montanalo, I have a feeling we will soon see a Travolta meme in your honor.

Morning Pops and stay at home people. That's what we are now, no stay at home Moms or Dads, we're all staying inside of our homes, inside of our homes, inside of our homes. Put that last part to Yellow Submarine and it all makes sense. Well, as much as I can.

Well, social distancing has come to Marble Falls. The two local supermarkets are making customers line up outside, 6' apart and only letting one in when one comes out. The employees of Walmart were doing something interesting, exaggerated distancing and they seemed to be having fun openly avoiding customers' space and reminding them of the sd rule. I thought that was clever on their part. I got to HEB too late and the line, also separated by 6', was too long. Got to go back tomorrow morning really early.

I never thought being a borderline anti-social curmudgeon would come in handy but it turns out I am a natural social distancer. Might say I am a professional but I prefer 10'.

That Colo, never ceases to amaze me. The man is so comfortable in his own skin and masculinity that he'll share anything. I can't wait to hear more developments with his relationship with the "man on the balcony" cuz two men meet over "Staying Alive" in the woods, there's another story coming.

Afternoon Pops and friends.

I'm here, RGV!

Montanalo, that's a story for the books. I'll bet the neighbors love sitting back and waiting for you to come through the area with your back up cats. The Saturday Night Fever sound track has an uncanny ability to move certain people, especially in higher altitudes. Along with your neighbors, we will enjoy your antics. Thank you for sharing. We can only hope someone recorded it and puts it on YouTube.

Coach, the lines at HEB sound horrible. You should buy a pass that lets you cut to the front of the line.

With all the freed up time to squander as I please, I set out to clean out my dresser. Clothes were neatly wadded in there making it hard to close some drawers. Things were in danger of paying the price for being out of favor with me. I piled everything on the bed and proceeded to do some heartless thinning of the herd. The internal conversation went as follows:

I've been looking for that!
So this is where I put it!
That's so comfortable!
These are still good for yard work.

Repeat any one of those about 40 to 50 times and you have the gist of it. I finally encountered a shirt which I could live without if it never got cold here, but it does sometimes. Realizing the futility of my well intentioned task, I decided to fold everything to utilize all the space in the drawer (different wadding system). I have room enough now for more stuff. Marie Kondo would not be proud.

Yesterday I did some weeding in the flower bed. I have not grown fond of yard work yet. At least there was a wind blowing, it was cool and I was given a short window before the rain started. I cut the blackberry vines from last year down since they've proven they have no intention of putting out berries on those vines. The youngest daughter of the neighbors was swinging and yapping at me. Her subject changed often and lost me many times. She wished her grandmother Mimi was there but she lives very far away in a land called Texas. She also calls her Mimi because that's her name. She can swing very high and she's very strong. That was the bulk of my interactions yesterday.

A trip to the store would be beneficial. I've accessed my freezer situation and outside of an apocalyptic supply of burritos, I'm coming up short. I know I'd have to rise with the eagles which puts a strain on my hooting with the owls. The eagles are used to going without me, but the owls need me. Such is life.

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

Morning, Pops and pen pals. Happy hump day even though it makes no difference to many of us. Wednesday and Friday are my "marker" days. It's how I keep track of what day it is since I'm retired. Take care, everyone.

Morning Pops and everyone.

The days are going by pretty fast this week. Seems that way at least when you're extra busy. Workload has increased significantly since the shift in our workforce last Friday. I guess that just means the closing on my house will get here sooner rather than later. Two weeks from today... it's like the excitement and anxiety that builds when your team just won the game that takes them to the Superbowl (and you know it's gonna be a good one, now minus the party of course because of social distancing) and you have to wait that two weeks until the game. Hopefully being stupid busy will make that time pass quickly.

How's everyone doing during this isolation? Hope you all are well. Best to you all for a great rest of your week.

Morning Pops and I hope most are staying home and wish I had. I had mentioned the HEB line and that I would return and I did, right before 8am this morning. The line was twice as long and I was to discover that's the toilet paper lottery line because when I left at a little after 9, there was no line. I wasted time for nothing because the toilet paper was gone and couples were splitting up so they could each get their limit of one package and they should have made that per family.

I am going to wish upon y'all what I never wished upon anyone in my life, I hope all y'all have enough toilet paper and you will know when enough is enough.

Do you know what looks a lot easier than doing it? Dragging your butt in the yard like a dog. I am soon going to have to dry run practice that if this totally absurd and stupid toilet paper shortage continues. I ordered a power washer from Amazon and will give that a shot and hope I don't blow myself across the bathroom. "Help!! I am plastered against the wall and can't get off".

If you hang a beach towel between two fenceposts, you don't have to squat all the way to the ground...and you can power wash the towel.

Good morning Pops and fellow stay-at- homers.

Appreciate the comments regarding my "Staying Alive" adventure; glad I brought a smile to your faces.

@RGV_C_Los, I can't wait to see what @daboyzruleperiod conjures up with regard to a Travolta meme. If it helps, I was still in my housecoat. :).

@CouchCoach, so here is the rest of the story about the "man on the balcony": he grows his own marijuana plants and often starts his day with an early morning toke. I suspect, if questioned, he will likely have no real recollection of my forest dance moves or, for that matter of us even conversing. Before he retired a couple of years ago, he was an executive management "coach". I can only imagine how those coaching sessions went.

@Xelda, my two adult children live in fear that I will purposely post some of my antics on the internet. I may have mentioned that a couple of years ago, my wife and I visited Georgia and Armenia. While in Armenia, the country went through a peaceful overthrow of the government. The BBC videoed me with a bunch of drunk Armenians waving an Armenian flag. My kids were so very proud...

We have been experimenting with a lot of different meals as we wait out our quarantine. Yesterday, I made a very spicey Thai stir-fry. Needless to say, we are both "suffering" a bit today.

Onward and upward.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who stop in this morning and check out the thread.

Another Monday is here, oh yeah, it's Wednesday. See, this is the problem with never leaving home. They all kinda run together. If you are in this situation and if the mind set is such that you are stuck on Monday, then you got a big problem. However, if you are of this mindset and you happen to get stuck on Friday, then you my friend, well, you have hit the Mother Load! That's the trick of it. Figure out how to get stuck on Friday!

I hope everybody had a great evening. Had the Grandboy yesterday, was a good day. He was only with me till about noon but we had fun. He doesn't care about any of this. He just knows what things are fun to him and what things are not. We pretty much do the things that are fun and we avoid the things that are not. That's how we roll and we are good with that.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, keep yourselves busy. Keep your mind occupied. That's the key, keep your mind agile.

Everybody, have a great day!

Coach... thank you. I needed the laugh. We had another person get let go at work today so there's only 3 of us left and two attorneys... beginning to think this house purchase was a stupid idea. Only bright thing to today is knowing I have plenty of toilet paper. I have no yard as yet and the blacktop parking lot would be tough on the hiney!
