It's ridiculous to label it as such.
Even so, posters do it all the time. With Dak, for example, some use it against Dak that “he” only went 8-8 last year, and others discount Dak’s contribution to the 13-3 season by saying record is a team thing.

I personally think record isn’t entirely irrelevant because the QB is the player that has the most opportunity to affect the outcome of games, but for the most part it’s the entirety of the team that determines wins and losses.

I get slammed for this constantly. I actually think Prescott is every bit as good as Mahomes. He got bless than last year Super Bowl. I’m with Terry Bradshaw. I thought he was going to get exposed. Overthrowing under throwing actually aiming the football at one point. And Prescott actually had the same numbers. I’m not a fan of Mahomes obviously. I’ve been watching football since the 60s so . I’m old-school football. This is candy *** **** today
Dak is good no doubt. He has a chance this season to get everything he wants. Looking forward to the season.

2 times in NFL history teams have tagged QBs for the full season.

Chargers ill-fated mgmt tagged Brees who tore up his shoulder badly during the tagged season.
They were scared off by the injury and liked their kid QB; let him walk and negotiated with Culpepper before starting Philip Rivers the young in-house draftee.

The other was WAS who tagged Cousins TWICE then traded him.
Added an older vet and saw him have a career ending injury year 1.

No team in NFL history has tagged a QB, paid him franchise money then let him walk while healthy.
The one team who did let a guy walk saw that player have a Hall of Fame career and win MVPs and SB elsewhere while their entire franchise ultimately moved cities....

You could EASILY argue the Chargers and Commanders have been the worst run franchises of the last 20 years.
Now dolts want Dallas to follow in their wake.... oy vey.

Green Bay drafted a quarterback in the first round. They have to see him play by year two. Rodgers is done there no matter how well he plays.
Rodgers didn’t start until year 4, and Jordan Love is not considered a cant miss guy. Accordingly I’m not sure the Packers might not let Love develop a few years.

matt stafford at 33 in 2021, I'd sign him for a 4-5 year contract as long as it doesn't take a 1st round pick

Yeah that's what so was weird about Eagles and Packers taking quarterbacks. Both of those guys are raw. I can see if it was Tua or Burrows but those selections made no sense for those teams.

Stafford is another Kirk Cousins and Tony Romo. Won’t win you anything but will give you enough stats to give you hope and blame others. Small ball players.

Again, nonsense.
Dallas isn't letting Dak go when they can tag him again just to pay Stafford 27AAV over 3 or more years if they can even get him that cheaply.
They aren't paying Dak 5 years to tag him for just the one so that point is moot.
Stafford isn't coming in for 1 year and DET won't cut him except as a post June 1st move and likely after they talk restructure or buying his freedom.

Exactly zero teams would prefer Matt Stafford to Dak Prescott.

Dallas would go draft an R1 QB and take their chances because they'd have cost certainty for 5 seasons.
Dallas has A LOT of picks next year and can move up in R1 to take a QB.

Is that dumb compared to keeping Dak? Sure is which is why they would just tag him a 2nd time and try to go with a title.
But they aren't bringing in an aging, beat up Stafford to stop gap.
I'm not rooting for Dak leaving.

I wanted a long-term extension done last year.

However, Jerry is taking this personal and is allegedly upset with France. Stephen has started saying how the team can't improve due to Dak's contract. Someone within the organization is leaking talking points to Broaddus that "maybe Dak isn't the guy" and maybe McCarthy isn't sold on Dak. We've seen this before. Jerry's ego is the biggest factor in Dallas.

Dak tagged again jumps up to $38M and most people believe the cap will be going down next year. All of this adds up to the possibility of the team moving on.

According to the scouting reports he has the same issues you guys say Dak has. He "throws a pretty spiral" but he's wildly inaccurate.

Would still give Matt the passing edge over Dak. I am in the middle on Dak, so I don't beat him up one way or the other probably one of 2 that thinks like that on this board about Dak, most on here either loves him or hate him, but Matt is a overall better passer.

According to what though? Just personal preference? That's fine if so...

I love how your responses are always “you don’t know what you’re talking about” never adding any substance. You sound like a teenager
I think I fall into the trap of assuming I'm talking to adults on here.....but wouldn't shock me if he's a teenager. The real mind F's are when you see someone is actually 50 or 60 but acting like a teenager.

You can’t do that anymore. A first round pick has to play because of the salary cap. Name me one first round pick recently that sat the bench his second year?

Stafford has a great arm, no doubt better than Dak. But there are other factors that go into the QB position, and I would give Dak the edge in other areas.

Stafford is certainly very viable, and actually a superior passer than Dak.

It should've been. And let's don't act like Marvin Jones, Golladay and Tate were bad when they were together. Stafford just doesn't have "it".
He’s never won a playoff game and has a horrible record against winning teams as well which is what everyone is knocking Dak for from last year. So I really don’t understand the reasoning. Not to mention staffords back is done. What happened last time we rolled into a season with a guy with a history of back issues? Didn’t even make it out of preseason and we ended up throwing Dak into the fire.

He also sucks at beating winning teams, winning in the playoffs, and staying healthy. He won’t be making any superior passes from the massage table.
