A little bit. With Cam Erving, Connor McGovern, Tyler Biadasz and Brandon Knight, Redmond was essentially our 10th OL. Not sure if this means we won't carry a 10th and instead maybe put a 10th one on the practice squad, since I believe one of the players you can call up to the 55 has to be a lineman. I don't know if Redmond is eligible for the PS.

I'm not sure about the eligibility deal with him either.

I don’t fully understand the new PS rules but can’t you move some guys now without releasing them?

The league has extended the number of players on the practice squad because of covid-19 but have not changed how a player gets there. They all still have to be released first and have to wait 24 hours before they can be signed to the practice squad.

You still haven't learned that when a sportswriter uses "a source" it just speculation and by using "a source" people thinks it's true. Now Smith may get cut but for all we know the Cowboys may decide to go long at WR and shorter at another position. I suggest before we and sportswriters speculate to just wait and see who gets cut.

It used to be you needed a "source" now its carte blanche to throw things against the wall hoping something sticks.

I think we are getting out ahead of a potential player signing. No reason to release these guys now. Watch out for a Logan Ryan signing or even ET.

I'm not sure where you got that a player called up to the 55 man roster has to be a lineman but there are no position rules like that.

Didn't they change that also, due to COVID and extended PS players could be out of "options" but only for this year.

Six of the players added to the practice squad this season are exempt from the number of prior accrued seasons qualification or any other qualifications that would otherwise disqualify them from being on the practice squad.

Ryan signed with the Giants. The early moves are as a favor to the players to give them more time to find a team before cuts are made or its a gamble that it may help them slide through and be eligible to be signed to the PS right away. It could be an indication that they want them back as the veteran PS eligible guys.

I want to agree with you on the requirements being changed, but I'm not sure of any specifics as I haven't kept up on them.

Here's what blows a big hole in your idea of signing a free agent like Thomas because the Cowboys released a couple of players early. IF, that huge word, IF the Cowboys hadn't released those players and IF they were going to sign Thomas, they could do so as long as by 3:00pm they were under the player limit. They do this because there have been deals that have fallen apart just before signing and the team than cut a player that wasn't needed to be cut. It happens all the time that a team simultaneously sign a player and cuts a player so they don't have to cut players ahead of time so they can sign a free agent.

Rarely heard his name called in camp. Seemed to slip into oblivion.

Not necessarily surprised if we go with five receivers since that seems to be the dividing line between those who have performed well and those who have been spotty.

The 1st week to 10 days, they said he was making some plays. But nothing after that, as Wilson took off, as well as Brown improved, and seemed Bryant and Parker were getting more practice reps. Either he was not picking it up, struggling, didn't care, injured, who knows. Probably lack of ST's nor wanting to play ST's had more to do with it.

Was pulling for him, but they deemed him not one of the top 53. So be it, time to move on.

AND DONT BE SURPRISED to see us carry 3 QB's on the active. Thorson will likely clear waivers and end up on the PS.

I doubt it because teams don't have 4 QB's during the season even if 1 is on the practice squad. Yes there are more players on practice squads this season because of covid but I doubt they will have 4QB's.
