I don't think it should matter either way. I beleive Charles Haily wasn't a good person either. Team is holding on for R. Gregory, signed G. Hardy etc. This is what they do. They want to win at all cost even if it means selling thier souls to achieve that. The question should be is he right now better than D. Wilson, D. Thompson, X. Woods. It would be foolish to think the three aformentioned are better the Earl Thomas, even in his declining play. Which, I think is a statisical anomoly!

It should matter and clearly does matter to some teams. There's a reason why no team sprinted to sign him after he got cut from Baltimore. So yes, teams absolutely take into account things like locker room culture, ability to manage a player who has issues, etc. Sure, Dallas is known for signing these kinds but maybe they shouldn't always do this?

Haley was nearly 3 decades ago, so I am not sure that's applicable. Hardy? He was an issue. He caused friction with coaches and rubbed some teammates the wrong way. I would not classify him as being some sort of success that justifies signing Thomas. Gregory? Gregory has never been a problem in the locker room or had any issues with the coaches. So I am not sure how his situation applies to Thomas.

At this point as long as he hasn't committed a felony I don't care about a dang on thing this dude has done. SIGN HIM ALREADY JERRY!!! Take a shot of johnny blue and pull the trigger. This is ridiculous.
Yeah. I don’t care if he’s a grade a POS. We need talent on the backend. And playing for his hometown team I would imagine would set him straight on its own

I think because people are so desperate for a safety that some are over hyped at the possibility..I'm sure we wouldn't be getting 2015 earl thomas and I think the name has people expecting more than he'd actually bring BUT he's probably still better than what we have now ONLY if he plays by the rules. I'm definitely on the fence with this move if it happens.

There is a new sheriff in town. News on Carr visit didn't happen until after the fact.

fair enough and could be right but this is a very different situation in terms of profile....again if true I would at least expect some wind of it publicAlly just like the clowney stuff is getting...

hey at least we got something to help keep us occupied for a few more days till kick off

I hope this happens. I feel like we have had a very solid off-season and this would be the cherry on top. I don't care if he is older, he is still light-years ahead of anybody we have to play safety, and I do buy into the idea that he would love to play here and not be an issue.

LOL

steve just said on sirius radio that Hill starting at DT next week. There is literally nothing that will change the Jones family. They have their stadium and their training facility which leads to no desperate desire to win like normal organizations.

In the middle of a pandemic and they are going to be one of the only teams to make money selling tickets.

They are a marketing company that just happens to play football on sundays.

Griffen was a huge signing that we did not hear about as well so it is possible the FO has fully taken on a new approach to acquiring players

yes, but again earl thomas is on a total different level:...and we’re also much closer to the season starting.

you could be right or it could be a complete made up story or it could be something in between.

I’m more skeptical and fee it’s closer to made up but acknowledge my view is simply a fans opinion and nothing else

Not sure what Hill starting has to do with your anti-Jones comments about their decision to play football. If the NFL is leaving it up to the individual teams to determine if they will have fans present, why are you so against it? Maybe they do want to win and believe having fans present will help.

I will say this, and someone brought it up on the twitter. KT is not in the business of breaking news in the NFL and hes not trying to be here. So if hes saying something like this, people should listen.
